The Emerald Valley Inn is a refurbished/remodeled motel off the main road heading to Lake Crescent. We had the Appleton Pass Suite #1 which are two connected rooms that share a bathroom, and a small enclosed outdoor patio on the backside of the building. One of the rooms has a small kitchenette with microwave, sink and mini fridge as well as a dining table. The rooms are motel size so not too big but each had a queen size bed with small nightstands. Entry is right off the parking lot which is convenient for bringing your gear in but also a bit dusty as the lot is not fully paved. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated with sound machines at each nightstand and ear plugs provided to help you muffle out the road noise. Fans were on full blast as there is no A/C. One of the rooms smelled a bit musty, not sure if that was because of the bathroom moisture. The property is rustic and part of a larger farm (chickens, goats and emus were in a nearby enclosure) and campground facility, and also right next to Granny’s Cafe which is a popular food stop. We arrived on a Tuesday when Granny’s was closed but did enjoy an ice cream on our return from the ONP. During the summer peak season, prices are similar to some of the hotels in Port Angeles (which is only 20 minutes away) so depending on the vibe you’re looking for, the Inn may not be that good of a “deal”. Check-in and check-out process was smooth.
