Creekside in the Smoky Mtns. has a rejuvenating quality. Something we all need!

Creekside is a tobacco free property located on 6 acres nestled in the Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina alongside Drymans Creek. We have just one rental unit, so booking a stay at Creekside, you will be the only guest. It is 800 square feet all on one level from your car to the door with bath and shower one step up. The unit has been remodeled on the lower level of our home overlooking Drymans Creek with a view of the mountains and a horse pasture . It has a covered deck and private entrance. It is most private and quiet. Listen to the serene sounds of the crystal clear water rushing over the rocks, take in the mountain view from the deck with the creek below. Watch horses graze in the neighboring pasture. Walk the creek taking in natures splendor. You might like to pan for gold or hunt for arrow heads in the creek! Hike the many trails nearby. You will especially want to visit Pickens Nose a rock outcrop on top of the mountain and stand at 5200 ft and look into the valley below. The Appalachian trail is nearby and water falls abound. Our area has been the setting for Hollywood movies too! The original "Fugitive" was filmed nearby. The train wreck is still visible too! "Deliverance", "Last of the Mohicans". Most recently "3 Bill Boards Outside Ebbing Missouri" to mention a few. If you are an antique motorcycle enthusiast you'll want to visit "Wheels Through Time" motorcycle museum showcased on TV as the show "What's in the barn". There's so much to see and do you won't want to leave! Motorcycles are welcome with easy access from highway. We have covered parking for motorcycles if needed. Also in the event of a motorcycle break down, we have a trailer setup for transporting large touring bikes and a good shop to take it to.

Joe greated us when we arrived!! He's so joyful!! We had a wonderful time, even though the weather didn't cooperate, we were able to relax and rest. Beautiful scenery, beautuful fall colours, and horses. Peaceful mountain creek. Loved it. Highly recommend!!

This place is AMAZING The hosts were very understanding of our need to be antisocial. we showed up, were greeted, they offered to help us settle in, we declined, they offered company, we declined, we didn't see them again until checkout. This place is beautiful and very quiet. Perfect place to relax and I genuinely don't think I could have found anywhere better ESPECIALLY for this price. They have a lovely selection of games/DVDs. Will definitely be coming back as soon as possible

Very easy to get to (directions/roads) and easy to unload car and get settled. Food establishments close by. Just enjoyed sitting on the porch/deck and relaxing. Trails around the property and brook kept me entertained but not too much exercise so I came back home rested and relaxed. Accomodations were beautiful, clean, and restful. Hosts were great.

Wonderful!!

This was an amazing place to stay, I loved everything about it. The hosts were wonderful, everything was nice and clean, we had everything we needed there! It was also so nice to have the private creek and land to explore all to yourself! The view from the porch is the best thing to see when you wake up and before you go to bed. Would definitely love to stay there again! Highly recommend!

The Best Getaway!

This is my second time staying at this lovely vacation home. Joe is amazing as a host and just a lovely man. He gave us a great tour of the mountain and we had such a wonderful time, relaxing and enjoying the sounds of the creek and privacy. We’re already planning our next visit. If you wanna get away, this is a wonderful place to stay.

Creekside Lodging

Home in Otto community, away from the crowded highways and towns of Clayton, GA and Franklin, NC. Slightly remote setting up a well-maintained gravel road that overlooks a beautiful meadow with horses and deer. The home truly is “creekside” and is located beside a beautiful flowing creek. We spent our evenings after dinner on the deck overlooking the creek, enjoying the fireflies. The accommodations were so clean (pristine!) and comfortable. The hosts were warm and welcoming. Even though they were upstairs, the accommodations were quiet and private. Their dog, Ruby, is an added amenity! We will definitely stay here again!

Would definitely book again!

My husband and I had a lovely getaway at Creekside! Very quiet and private. The soothing sound of the creek and the view from the porch was our favorite! Location was great and close to restaurants, grocery stores and gas stations. We had no trouble finding our way there. Creekside is super clean and decorated nicely, an all-around great place to rest and unwind. The hosts are so wonderful and very helpful. They were there to greet us upon arrival. Super kind couple with great recommendations about the area. We look forward to a return stay at Creekside!

Perfect Place for Peace & Quiet

My husband and I come frequently to Franklin, including twice a year for the wholesale gem show. We are quiet folks, and when we stay somewhere, a peaceful location is very important. We couldn’t have asked for a better place or location. The view of the mountain and the beautiful creek were exactly what we were hoping to find. We didn’t have time to enjoy the firepit, but I’m sure we will return and utilize it then. Everything was so clean and thoughtfully arranged. Everything we needed was provided. The notebook for guest information was perfect! We also enjoyed the information on places to eat. The furnishings were exactly right: a comfortable bed, comfy recliners, and a very well-equipped kitchen. Who could ask for more?While we didn’t have the opportunity to meet Joceline, we enjoyed our conversations with Joseph. Such a welcoming host!I’ve been coming to Franklin since the 1960’s, and I must say that I’ve never stayed in a more comfortable and welcoming place. We highly recommend Creekside!Thank you, Joseph and Joceline!

Beautiful property and awesome host

My wife and I stayed 3 nights at this place in May, 2025. The pastoral view from the porch is worth the price of admission. If you get tired of watching the horses and creek below, the bird feeder just a few feet off the porch attracts many beautiful birds. The two Lazy Boy recliners in the living room is just icing on the cake. Finally, I found a VRBO with a beautiful porch view and some useful living room furniture. The host, Joe, was perfect. He was there to welcome us upon our arrival, gave us a nickel tour then left us alone. On our third and final night he informed us that the area may experience an overnight hail storm and offered us a garage to park our vehicle inside. While the hail never came that night I want to thank Joe for allowing me to park my vehicle safely in his garage while I was lounging in the lazy boy and listening to the rain fall outside. Thanks, Joe!

An auto mechanic, art gallery owner, heavy equipment operator and tractor trailer driver all crammed into 40 odd years. Still working part time on truck wreck recovery and driving a heavy wrecker.
