Excellent place to stay. We loved the location, on the lake but felt tucked away and like we had the whole slice of the lake to ourselves. Amazing views in the fall time. The place was very clean. All the linens and blankets smelled very clean like they had just been washed. We loved all the blanket options for not just the bed but sitting on the couches and chairs. Very relaxing place with restaurants not too far away.

We had the most amazing time. We fished, sat by the firepit and roasted smores. The main lake isnt far from the cabin where we took the boat out and went tubing. This cabin is so adorable and the huge wrap around porch was perfect to eat dinner on and drink coffee on in the morning.

Check in was on point and easy to manage. The kitchen area had a lot of useful items and easy access to the lower cabin space. Use of gas stove is helpful for those who's never used a gas stove before.

Relaxing Stay

My family and I had a great time at the cabin. It was private, quiet and beautiful. We made s’mores at the fire pit. We went swimming and fished at the pier. The only downfall was that we had to leave a day early due to the weather. I would definitely recommend!

Loved it

Weekend get away

There are many vacation rental horror stories, but this is not one. The host met us upon check-in, gave us a run down on how to get in and then left. The cabin is gorgeous, well maintained, and perfect for a romantic get away.

The property is well cared for and the cabin was beautiful. Easy check in and check out process. Quiet and private. Kayak easily launched by the dock. Everything we were hoping for a weekend at the lake.

Great weekend getaway!

Everything was just as described. We like low key, hang at a house, fish, and play table games type places and this was perfect. Felt secluded, but town is close if you need anything and the little section of the lake was so peaceful! Fans were nice outside on the covered porch and the dock/pontoon was good for 4 people to fish off of. Only 1 1/2 hrs from Raleigh, which was a plus since family was coming up from State. GO PACK!

Best Cabin in North Carolina!

Amazing stay, the lake view was beautiful and the cabin was extremely spacious and clean, multiple rooms and quiet getaway. If you want a peaceful place to stay in to relax and enjoy your family and nature, please book this cabin. The host made it extremely easy to find and communicated well for sure coming back

Not really accurate on listing

The listing says the property has a hot tub and it definitely didn’t, it was basically a bathtub with jets , it’s called a spa , the welcome book says to mostly fill the tub with hot water this is the only way this ( Hot tub) gets hot , I did enjoy my stay but probably wouldn’t have rented it if I knew it had a spa and not a hot tub , I think the listing should be upgraded, the property was beautiful and I would stay there again if the listing was correct.

Amazing

The cabin was gorgeous and our hosts were very communicative! All the infomation we needed to check in was messaged and extra information to enjoy our stay was left in a handy binder (local attractions, food, remunders, check out, etc). The dick was so peaceful and while we enjoyed swimming, we also enjoyed the quiet sunset from that spot. Beautiful home in a beautiful locale. We qill definitely be back!

Beautiful Setting

Peaceful, beautiful surroundings, loved the porch, outdoor fire pit and dock on the lake. Cabin was tastefully decorated and comfortable. Look forward to coming back to Roxboro for the Bluegrass Festival next year and hope the cabin will be available.

Firefly Heaven!

Love coming up to Roxboro to visit the grandkids. We all love fishing and watching the stars from the dock. Everyone enjoys having a fire each night and making s’mores. The kids favorite activity was catching the fireflies! There are so many that they sparkle like Christmas lights. Always a joy coming to the cabin to spend time with the grandkids. With the pullout couch upstairs, there’s room for everyone!

Like a Dream!

Montez and Teresa Thank you for sharing your piece of heaven on earth with us! We hope to be back soon. We came as a little fishing getaway and hated to leave. Great communication with the owners. Directions that were provided were so helpful. The cabin was so gorgeous. The grounds were beautiful and the lake was amazing. This is a fishing paradise as this is part of lake that is private which we loved. We took our baby bass boat and was able to put in down by the dock. You will get a little exercise going down to the lake but so worth it! Lots of water to cover in a boat. We also caught fish right off the dock. This place is so peaceful and relaxing.They do provide liens and towels. The kitchen has all you need to cook. All you need to bring is your toiletries, clothes and food. If you need something there are a few places and town not too far away.

amazing, secluded getaway

my husband and i went here for our honeymoon and we definitely will be staying here again. even in November the fish were biting, and the jetted bathtub was a perfect way to end the night. The cabin was very clean, and owners are very nice and friendly. great place for a family vacation or a romantic getaway

Cabin on the lake

Weather was perfect!

Perfect weather to enjoy the lake. Warm enough to paddle board, kayak and swim. Nights were cool enough for porch sitting. Really appreciate having a bathroom and bedroom on both floors. Love the loft, a great area for the grandkids. Always a nice relaxing week to reconnect with family and the cabin is perfect for our needs.

Lovely location to unwind

The property was exactly as advertised and a treat to stay at for our trip. The host to an excellent job of providing everything that is needed in terms of linens, towels, kitchen, items, and more. Worth noting, the host have a binder with all essential information that’s an easy to find and easy to reference resource if a question comes up. Our host were some of the most prepared that I’ve ever stayed with on VRBO. Would book this location again, without hesitation.

This property is located in the heart of the Sappony Indian territory in the North Carolina High Plains; just across the road from the Sappony Indians’ historic church and on the banks of Lake Mayo. If you love the calm clear water, swimming, fishing, and nature, this is heaven on Mother Earth. We purchased the property in preparation for our retirement years, which is just around the corner. It is a perfect place to transition from the hustle and bustle of city life and corporate America.

Located on the quiet private section of Lake Mayo, but close enough to the public section if you want to launch your own boat to go Bass Fishing or Jet Skiing. The Log Cabin is cozy and inviting with a wrap-around porch to soak in all the natural scenery, including the beautiful majestic lake. We recently built a 10’x20’ floating dock to enable the functionality required to really enjoy the lake such as jumping into the lake for a cool swim on a hot summer's day, launching personal water crafts, fishing, entertaining guests, or having a romantic dinner or lunch among nature.
