Wonderful location. Our Cabin is only about 14 years old and has been very popular. We are located in the Buffalo Creek-Springs area of the largest lake in Virginia! It's the best lake for Fishing and Boating!! The Cabin is nestled in the trees giving you, your family and pets room to run and play in privacy.

Yet, it's only 100 yards from Highway 58, so it's easy to find and is only 5 Miles to Clarksville or 15 Miles to South Boston!

The Cabin is fully stocked and we offer free linens *towels, sheets, dishcloths! Nicely decorated. Large Bathroom and full sized Washer/Dryer to keep you clean.

We have dozens of repeat renters. They love the privacy and the feeling of getting away from it all. We love it here where we can be outdoors, see the sun set and the stars shine every night!

Fisherman are welcome. Fishing is popular here all year round.

We have room in our driveway to park your truck and boats. (You may leave your trailer or extra vehicle at our adjoining property to allow for more room in driveway.) Pull up close to the outdoor faucet or electrical outlet if needed. Buffalo Park and Boat Landing is just down the road for launching your boat. The Park also offers picnic tables, fishing area, playground and a nice swimming area. There are many nice, local Federal Parks plus Occoneechee State Park.

The lake is right out the back door with a sloping path through the trees that is easy to walk. Enjoy sitting on the back deck and get back to nature! Boat Rentals are available in town of Clarksville or at Marina. We live on the adjoining farm so we are right here if you need us!

The water at our dock is only about 3-4 feet deep so x-large boats are not recommended to dock here. Kayaking here is excellent. Floating is good but swimming is better at the local parks or out in the open lake if you have a boat. Always go feet first & please wear a life jacket! Never assume you can dive in our lake and be aware - there are drop It’s 50+ feet in many areas.

We have a Fish Cleaning Table and a Deck with Grill facing the backyard for your cookouts! There is a Fire Pit for s’mores and story telling. There are several chairs and a picnic table located in the back yard under the pine trees.

Our town of Clarksville is 6 miles away. It is small but has a personal feel. Everyone is friendly and there are plenty of restaurants and shopping. We also have an incredible Brewery overlooking the main channel. Buggs Island Brewery aka BIB.
Our cabin is also within 2 miles of two wineries. Lake Front Winery and Woodbine Winery.

This was the 2nd time I stayed at the cabin and hopefully it won’t be the last. Loved staying here. Only close neighbors are the cows and they are friendly and talkative. Location is great. Owners are great.

We had an amazing time. The house was perfect and you didn't have to walk far to the dock. Bonus points for the little waterfall that you could walk to.

The cabin

Very nice cabin. Clean and cozy with all amenities needed for a weekend getaway or more. Caught fish from the dock every day and nice cleaning station beside the cabin. Really enjoyed our stay.

Best getaway

We loved our stayed here at this cute cottage! The house was so clean when we arrived, cleaner than any property I have ever stayed at! The couches were so comfortable it was hard to leave them! The property had everything we needed!Loved the dock for the kids to fish and dock our boat. We will definitely book again!!

Cozy and well-equipped cabin on beautiful private, wooded lot leading down to a creek. We only used the main bedroom and it was clean and comfortable; the other bedroom looked perfect for kids or adult guests. There is a full kitchen and laundry room and spacious bath with tub/shower. The outdoor space is lovely and serene, with a deck, fire pit, and great views of the creek and the night sky with no light pollution. We visited the nearby Woodbine Winery and Cooper’s Landing restaurant and were very impressed with both. It was quite cold when we visited (late November) so we didn’t do any water activities, but this would be a fabulous base for fishing and boating in warmer weather. Hosts were gracious and accommodating. Overall, a perfect place to relax in comfort and enjoy nature while still close to the amenities of Clarksville.

Great Quiet Getaway

The Buffalo Hideaway cabin was excellent as always. Clean, quiet, peaceful and just a great break from the hustle and bustle of a normal busy world. A great place to read a book and escape.

Everything you need for a lake vacation. Enough parking for our bass boat. Very comfortable bed and recliners. Short ride to town. Will be back for sure.

Greg and Jennifer grew up in Mecklenburg County, left for college but returned here to make our home. We have lived here on our farm for over 20 years now.
We have a herd of black Angus cows which you can see from the Cabin. Greg stays busy in the hay field, keeping the fences clean and working but always finds time for his family. Greg works for Roxboro Ice handling HVAC and ice coolers. Jennifer manages a Website for the family business, Berry Hill Irrigation.
When we are not working on the farm, in the yard or garden, we enjoy the boating on the Lake and traveling with our children.

We have lived in this area our whole lives and love the Lake! We built this cabin as a source of extra income for our family. We are very proud of the Cabin and its success. The area we built on is very private and gives you the feeling of being 'out in the country'. However, the Highway and the town of Clarksville are nearby. Clarksville has a home-town feeling that welcomes each person. The weather is nice most of the year allowing you to enjoy the outdoors most anytime!
Buggs Island Lake (aka Kerr Lake) is the best! It's huge and open and great for sports! It's also beautiful!! Did you know it's the largest lake in Virginia?

From the Cabin, you can sit on the back deck and enjoy nature. Take a short walk down to the Lake and our Dock. Most of the time, you can walk the Shoreline of the Lake and enjoy more nature or throw in a fishing line. A lot of Renters have written in our Guestbook about the many fish they caught from our dock.
The local Clarksville Chamber has frequent events such as a Farmer's Market, Lake Fest, Wine Fest, Car Shows & Lake Life Live Music. Check out our Chamber's website and Facebook for more details. Our local YMCA and Kinderton Golf Course have constant activities as well.
Looking for food and beverages? There are many restaurants nearby for your convenience! Chinese, Italian, Mexican, fast food, etc. There is also a bakery, cafe, 2 wineries and Buggs Island Brewing (BIB is our favorite and it overlooks the lake!).
