This home is full of love and family history. I can see from other reviews that they have really enjoyed their stay. Here are some observations that may be helpful to know if you’re considering this rental. The road to get to the house is gravel for 2 miles. It takes about 15 minutes to get into town. “Secluded” is subjective so I wanted to emphasize this is very secluded. I did enjoy watching the sheep and llama (maybe alpaca?) on the neighboring property. Unfortunately there were many bees out on the front porch (perhaps a hive near the front door) and also on the back porch. As another renter mentioned, there were many, many flies, but that’s not any fault of the owner, again just an observation. The home itself is pretty neat- layout is nice and we appreciated two bathrooms. We did not find the beds comfortable but that’s personal preference. The mattresses and pillows in both bedrooms are memory foam which are known to trap heat. There were plenty of towels and the kitchen was stocked nicely but could use some sharper knives and a better can opener (very specific I know). Unfortunately on night 1 we discovered the barbecue was out of propane, but luckily there was a blackstone available. However on night 2 that propane also went out mid-cook. We contacted the owner but he was unable to replace the propane until 3 hours later (930pm.) He seemed exasperated when I asked for a small credit due to the inconvenience. Garbage cans also full on check out so we had to take with

Overall the house is great and has a nice rustic charm to it. The property manager is great and responds fairly quick.The only complaint is there was a lot of flies getting in from the patio area by the kitchen and we had to vacuum up a good amount of flies every night/morning. Property manager said it’s that time of season and it comes with a log house, which we completely understand. It’s just weird that it was only by that one patio door and no where else. Makes us think the patio door is due to be updated. Don’t let it deter you completely from this house though because other than that it was a great stay!

Quiet, comfortable, genuine Montana ranch home. Clean, fully stocked with laundry and condiments. Lots of cooking utinsels and dishes.
All old Montana character but comfortable beds and furniture.

Exactly what a Montana VRBO should be.

Tons of charm and very comfortable. A lovingly cared for older property that was well appointed for a group of friends on a hunting trip. Incredibly welcoming and nostalgic. Hats off to the owners for offering a genuine experience. Would book it again in an instant.

Perfect location

We rented this property while hunting in Dillon. It was the perfect location, and the house was equipped with everything we needed. The kids enjoyed the hot tub and sauna. We’ll definitely be back!

Flynn Road

A perfect location which is only 10 minutes to town. This is great for seeing wildlife and beautiful mountain scenery. We enjoyed a resident owl and bunny rabbits. In addition close by were deer, prong horn antelope and a gang of elk came the last two days. We traveled to many places including Glacier National Park and Red Rock Lake National Wildlife Preserve. A wonder Montana log home with all the kitchen pots,pans and dinner ware. We only ate out once.

An out of the way hideaway

A small reunion of sorts with a sibling we don’t get to see often enough. The house made us all feel right at home at “grandmas house” with its vintage charm. We were immediately comfortable and well accommodated. We will definitely be back

Quiet retreat

Quiet location close to ammenities. House was stocked for cooking meals and the indoor hot tub was a wonderful in the cool evenings.

Great spot for a getaway

The check-in was easy and the property was very clean. The house was well equipped for a long weekend and the sauna and hot tub were awesome. Can’t wait to rent it again!

Great Get Away!

We enjoyed our time at the log house. It is very quiet with a lot of great amenities like a giant hot tub, sauna, full kitchen, and lots of history. We loved the animal mounts, historic memorabilia, and the location. Everything went smoothly with the checkin, checkout process, and our stay! The manager of the place was the best we have encountered. He was easy to get ahold, responded promptly, and was very helpful. He provided useful information on finding the house as Google maps wants you to turn one road prior to the house. We would definitely stay here again in the future!

Hunting lodge

We based out of here for a week of elk and deer hunting. Great location near the Blacktail Mountains. Also close enough to Dillon to run to town for supplies in the evening or early morning. The fireplace was fantastic to warm up to at the end of the day! There was plenty of split firewood provided. The hot tub was utilized by some stiff and sore hunters as well as the grandkids!

This was the perfect house for my husband and I on our honeymoon. We loved the wildlife, deer and owls, and the distance to the lovely town of Dillon.

The property was clean and had wonderful views. It was located outside of town which made it very relaxing. The hot tub and sauna were a nice added benefit.

Paradise for a week!

Amazing house with so many things to look at and lots of interesting family history! The beds are comfortable and two bathrooms made for no waiting. The kitchen is fully stocked and easy to cook and clean. Two BBQ’s out back, one grate, the other a giant griddle! A warm inviting jacuzzi and sauna inside to use for aching bones. A sweet pasture of sheep and four horned owls for evening entertainment from the front porch. We found this place to be so relaxing and Dillon MT is one of the friendliest places on earth!
