GREAT Beach! Excellent location!

Just be ready for stairs, but it’s worth it. Lovely home with an excellent beach!! Great for large family!

Best week ever

I know weather is never a guarantee, but amazing weather put this trip over the top. Thank you for allowing us to stay In this beautiful home at this phenomenal location. It was a dream come true for us all!

Ideal family beach vacation

We really enjoyed our visit in this beautiful spot. We had a family group- grandparents, parents and elementary age kids. The house is well-equipped and we had everything we needed. The beach is quiet and just wonderful for building sand castles, lounging and playing in the waves. The overlook was a dream spot for morning coffees and evenings watching amazing (very late!) sunsets. It’s truly a special spot that captures the beauty of this majestic place. Definitely a lot of stairs both in the house and to the beach - we all got a great workout! The only other caveat I would note is that our group had elementary aged children. If you have younger children (toddlers/preschool) in your group, there are lots of stairs and the top floor is open to the bottom. Personally, i would plan on keeping younger ones on second level (there are 3 enclosed bedrooms). We had an easy time working with property manager who was very gracious and responsive. Our entire party really enjoyed our stay- the kids are already asking to come back!

Lovely Place For A Family Getaway

We had a wonderful family gathering at this lakefront property! There were 8 adults and 6 grandchildren in our party. Our youngest grandchildren were 2y/o and Grandma and Grandpa were in their 60's, and we all were able to do the stairs to the beach. It was so nice to have a large private sandy beach and not have to pack up everything/everyone in a car and drive to a public beach, and then feel like you were on top of the next group of people. The sunsets were spectacular from the overlook room! (Several in our group would call this their favorite spot.) We didn't venture too far - St. Joseph for groceries, several parks/playgrounds, watched the bridges open, take-out from a couple of local restaurants, etc. Check-in and Check-out were a breeze. Andy was fantastic to work with - friendly, knowledgeable and very accommodating. This place allowed us to create wonderful memories. Kathy M., August 2021

Family MI trip July 2021

Lovely location for a vacation. Why go to hot Florida when you can enjoy lovely 78-82 degree weather in MI? View is gorgeous, made better by the screened crows nest overlooking the lake. There were lovely breezes every day, and we swam out and sand bar hopped. Beach was perfect for sitting or playing games in sand (think Tidal Ball and Spikeball) and collecting rocks. We had several days where we had 1-3 foot waves and rented a Maui mat with anchor for the kids to play on. On days with 2-4 foot waves, kids wave jumped. Meijer delivered groceries to house, and house was well stocked with all necessary dishes and appliances along with tons of bath and beach towels provided. House was plenty cool. They have fans set up to move the cool lower house air up to the loft. There is a center opening in the house where you can look from top loft down 3 floors and talk to everyone. It is a very vertical house with 4 levels, and there are 60 plus steps down to the beach, but it was not a problem for kids, young adults or those of us in our 60s. We went charter fishing and grill worked perfectly for grilling fish and veggies. Outside and inside dining options are plentiful. Many local wineries with food trucks are close by also. There are 3 bathrooms, one en suite, one for the 2 middle floor bedrooms and then one on the lower level that is a full bath with shower. That took the most organization--we assigned loft guests to the downstairs bathroom, so you just had to be organized making your trips up and down. I am sure I am forgetting things, but it is a lovely house in a lovely setting. --Sally Werne

Waterfront Wonder

This house is spectacular--secluded, but close to amenities and shopping; luxurious, but not flashy; and memorable, with an architectural style combined with lake views and sunsets from the three-season house that are absolutely stunning. We cooked almost every meal in the well-appointed kitchen for our group of 9 adults and teens, and spent a lot of time relaxing in the diverse interior spaces. Yes, there are a lot of steps, inside the house and to the beach, but it's all manageable. Property manager Andy was great and promptly answered our questions. What a fantastic week!

Beautiful stay in Stevensville!

We truly enjoyed a beautiful family reunion at Stevensville! The check in process was very easy and everything was neat and clean upon arrival. It’s a beautiful, unique home with what seems like a gorgeous treetop bridge to the “watch tower”. Beach was amazing and the sunsets perfect! I would recommend this home to those who enjoy stairs and open concept!

A Bit of Paradise

A beautiful home in a more beautiful setting. Stunning architecture in a lush forest. The three season house and the views from it are surreal. The beach and lake brought me back to my childhood!! Andy, the manager was awesome, but since he made sure everything was perfect, we only spoke a couple times.

An amazing beach house less than 2 hours from Chicago!

What an amazing week we had! The house is perfect, kitchen equipment and appliances fully stocked, comfortable beds, and unbeatable beach and views. We rented with 4 adults and 5 children age 1-8. Andy was super easy to deal with and even called to check in on us! There are a LOT of steps, but after day 2 we became used to it. The beach is beautiful and we spent every day playing in the water with our 5 kids. The sunsets were spectacular. We can’t wait to go back!

Perfect retreat!

Beautiful beach, with wonderful 3-season room and fantastic home. Quiet location but near all necessary amenities. Property manager responded immediately to questions. Cannot recommend enough!

Fresh Coast Heaven

This is one of the most majestic locations in the country. We had one of the best family trips of our lives. The beach is remote and beautiful, and the house is very well appointed and comfortable :)

Beautiful weekend and home!

What a gorgeous house and such an easy drive from the Chicagoland area. We had a great girls’ weekend here enjoying this unbelievable lake house. The beach views are so beautiful. The house is very well equipped and slept all 7 of us super comfortably. Can’t wait to go back!

Peaceful Beach Retreat

The private beach at this house cannot be beat. Stevensville is a little off the beaten path of the Union Pier and New Buffalo area, we love it here. The deck for viewing sunsets is perfect! There is a nice big grill and deck eating area which we really enjoyed. The beds are very comfortable! There are 62 stairs to get down to the beach, but it didn't bother us at all and we were lugging our 22 pound grandson down and up the steps. Since it is a private beach we just left our beach umbrellas and beach toys secured under the wooden Adirondack chairs at night. During our one week stay we saw only a couple other people on the beach and they were walking by, so we had it to ourselves. In addition the owner was very responsive and nice. We had a couple minor issues while we were there and she responded extremely promptly to our emails. You will not regret renting this house for your family getaway!

Great family vacation

We had 11 people (6 adults and 5 kids aged 18 mos to 7 years) stay in the house for a week in August. We had a great time and would recommend it to large families. The kitchen amenities, family entertainment (tv) and patio furniture were all great. Thanks.

Terrific Property with Great Owners

The home and property are described thoroughly by the other reviewers and we agree it was a spectacular place (but very private, which we enjoyed). One other important point for potential renters to consider is the quality of the owners. This owner was extremely prompt in all of our needs before, during and after our stay. We encountered a difficult situation (unrelated to the property) and the owner was incredibly helpful and handled our problems with the utmost care and responsiveness. We highly recommend the home and the owners!

The perfect summer beach house

This was the perfect beach house rental for our 2 families. Their private beach is great. The sunsets were amazing. Our 6 kids had so much fun collecting to rocks and sleeping together in the loft. The grocery store wasn't far. They were stocked with everything you'd need including many dvd's, board games and beach toys. The beds are all very comfortable and the house is kept clean and very organized. The owners are very nice. Very accommodating and easy to reach. We will definitely consider returning soon. Thanks for a great vacation!

Beautiful home with private beach

We had a wonderful time staying in this gorgeous home! It was exactly as pictured and fully equipped with everything you could ever want including beach towels! Kitchen had every appliance and service piece imaginable. Home is directly on the beach and was totally private as we only saw a few people all week. Our kids had a wonderful time playing in the water which had a gradual descent and a sand bar. We would love to come back every year! This was a very memorable vacation spot with all of the amenities. Thanks so much for a great family vacation!

A wonderful, relaxing stay

Our family of five (kids aged 4, 7 and 9) stayed for four weeks in August and enjoyed every moment. The house is lovely and secluded and has everything you need on hand. The beach was beautiful. We had various guests visit us during our stay and they all loved the place - it is very comfortable for a large group. We miss waking up to the sound of the waves and going to bed after perfect sunsets. We had a great time climbing the dunes in the state park about a mile up the beach and the wooded trails are a perfect place for a morning run. Lots of stairs, so you need to be reasonably fit - but if you are they won't bother you a bit!

Perfect vacation home

This is our second year staying at this wonderful house. Roomy, comfotable and modern. It has every convenience while still providing a secluded setting with a private very deep beachfront. The beach is very quiet and over the week we did not see more than a small handful of people any given day. The house and property have everything you could ever need. Plenty or outdoor deck area, a gazebo overlooking the beach, and lots of room inside. The owners could not be more pleasant and accomodating and obviously take great pride in this home and their ability to make it available to others like our family to enjoy.

Vacationing guest from Minnesota

My family (9 Lake Michigan swimmers and lovers) and I had a wonderful time at this amazing home on Lake Michigan. My husband and I grew up in the Chicago area and spent many magical vacations on Lake MIchigan. Now we are renting homes (this was our third) and try to rent on the water. This home is an architectural treat, as well as a comfortable vacation place. You really don't need to bring anything with you because it is so well stocked. The beds are super comfortable, which means a lot to my husband and me. There are a lot of stairs but we got used to them quickly! Best view of the lake is from the gazebo. I highly recommend this home to other Lake Michigan lovers. Our main reason for traveling that far is to swim in the lake, and so that was our daily treat. We visited Warren Dunes State Park, a short trip south, to climb the big dune (we call Mount Baldy) and body surf. Very close by is Meijers, a store that carries just about everything you might need for food, drink and supplies (produce and beer variety were amazing). We left with a lot of wonderful memories. Thanks!
