Hi there, first off I want to say the location is amazing. That being said, there were a number of disappointing things that we experienced. The first, our trips of water from the ceiling in a number of different locations. Also, finding a flea dead in the sink in the upstairs bathroom, several plugs not working, hard to see cobwebs in the corner of almost every part of the house in the windows. I have to say the furniture is subpar and thrift quality. The chairs in the dining room are falling apart. The couches are uncomfortable one of the beds in the downstairs without the washer and dryer very uncomfortable. Communication with Meredith lodging was fine however their communication with the maintenance people not so much. There was also trash out front in the yard.

The property was not available last minute and the property substituted by the local rental group was not acceptable (far less desirable and a horrible smell). I have been working with that local rental group and they have not been helpful. I'd like VRBO to engage as I feel at least a partial refund is in order.

Great location, I think we got the back-up cleaning crew

Location is super great, everything else felt a little off.Found an e-cigarette laying around, old food under the couch, lipstick on on glassware. I had to fixe one of the roller blinds that would only go half way up (somebody rolled it up backwards). Also, I have decided to start knocking stars off of locations that ask you to strip the beds...what are we paying a cleaning fee for?

We really enjoyed our stay at this property, and the location is ideal, directly across from the beach. Beautiful ocean views from the giant picture window and from the balconies, including a smaller, more secluded side balcony set among the trees, just off the primary bedroom. The upgraded kitchen is really lovely. There were extra leaves to extend the dining table, and extra chairs stored up on the wall in the garage. Eclectic global decor throughout the rest of the condo.

A blessed time

We enjoyed the ability to walk everywhere with easy access to town and beach. The views were spectacular. The accommodations were comfortable and had what we needed.

Lovely place

All the comments about it being shabby and having a leaking ceiling are wrong - or at least out of date. The place was lovely, the upstairs bed very comfortable. There were complaints from those who slept downstairs about uncomfortable beds and pillows. A pain to cross the street to get to the beach with our dogs but you couldn't see the street from the living room - just the ocean. Perfect!

Huge view and cozy fire

We came for our grand dogs 5th birthday. Maple was worn out with two big walks/runs on the beach. Nice to get together with our adult kids.

Manzanita home

Great location and we enjoyed the home. I did not know when I booked the rental that it was a side by side/2 rentals, I thought it was a single rental home. If it was in the listing I missed it. The pictures I viewed had a room with a bed and bunk beds which I assume was from the other side of the home.

It was clean. Since there was a larger group, primarily used the house as a place to sleep, shower and do some work. The second night,there was a storm with heavy winds. Ceiling, probably roof leaked in several places, we placed sauce pans to catch drips. Notified the phone number on instruction sheet the next morning.

Great Place

Great place great location a little smaller than photos. Only complaint needs new taller toilets more hot water for showers and better internet. Other than that we had a great stay and trip.

Duplex

Views were great from balcony, dining table, and living room. Downstairs queen bed was very firm and downstairs shower needs to be caulked it leaks on the floor when you shower. Wifi is very weak not working most of the time. Checkout is early, 10am. Location is great and beach was awesome! Would consider staying again but not a slam dunk.

Amazing House!

We loved this house! It was slightly outdated with furniture but no issue to how we felt being there. Would have liked a dead bolt on the home since the lock box key code is available for everyone who has stayed there. The dead bolt would be an added layer of safety for those in the home.

Shabby house w/ broken toilet, comfortable beds & great ocean views

We arrived at the rental 15 mins after check-in to find the cleaners there. My elderly mother tripped on the road when we parked on the curb instead of the driveway (resulting in a trip to urgent care). The house was shabby & scuffed w/ about three glasses, one a martini glass and one a sherry glass. The upstairs toilet flooded & my mother had to switch bedrooms, bandaged leg & all, so she could access a bathroom in the night. Lockbox impossible to use. Upsides were comfortable beds & super ocean views. This place needs an upgrade.

Gorgeous view but could use updates

This view can't be beat. Stunning. And the updated kitchen is very nice. The primary bed was listed as queen but seemed small, like a full. If this unit had a king bed, we would definitely be repeat off season guests here! Seating in Living room could use updating. Internet was slow and dropping out for most of our visit, with no modem in sight to re-set. Nevertheless, the view trumps all and we had a very nice weekend. :)

Cozy Winter Retreat

This was a lovely place to stay during a stormy winter weekend. We loved that both the dining area (AKA the puzzle table) and the living room area have generous views of the ocean. We could keep an eye on the incoming weather and easily access the beach for quick walks. It's an easy walk to the main street area shops etc. I appreciate that it's pet friendly without smelling like it. Very clean. Lovely new kitchen with a couple of design quirks. It was very nice that basically every bedroom could control its own thermostat, and I liked being able to bring the car into the garage. The duplex neighbor had two dogs, which we heard when they barked at other passing dogs, but otherwise we did not hear them. Maintenance note: the downstairs shower door sealant has worn away which results in a lot of water on the floor (or soggy floor towels). Overall, a very nice stay. Would recommend and stay there again.

Poor quality of the mattresses ruined our stay

Every mattress in the house was originally of very poor quality, and after many uses they are now basically a pile of knotted rags and random metal. After attempting two nights in what became known as our “torture chambers,” we left early so we could get a good nights sleep in our own beds. Further, the listing did not make clear that the location was a duplex, and we would be hearing neighbors on the other side of our wall. In spite of paying an exorbitant fee for cleaning, the floors were filthy, and we even found random pieces of cereal underneath the bottoms of the cabinets in the kitchen. Finally, the Internet connection varied from poor to non-existent. I make these comments with regret, because I believe this property has the potential to be a valued get away for its guests. The location is lovely, the beach access is flawless, and the lovely tourist town of Manzanita is in walking distance. To earn the vast fees they earn for renting out this property, the owners should respect their guests more by providing them with comfortable sleeping accommodations, reliable wi-fi, and hire and make accountable a responsible cleaning crew.

Beautiful view! Awesome location! Wonderful and friendly town! Plenty of parking. Weak Wi-Fi and could use tv’s in every room. Had a great time!

We had a great time :)

Overall this stay was great, our family had a blast on the beach. It was beautiful weather for our stay. The kitchen is pretty well stocked and the deck was wonderful. The beach access trail is right in front of the house which was convenient. It is an older home, as are a lot of beach homes. I do wish it was cleaner feeling. The bedding is old, the couches are old. I noticed one of the pillow cases on the bed didn’t look washed, it had some toothpaste or some kind of food on it. There was also what looked like a big smashed bug left on the wall, not from us. So I’m not sure if we would choose to stay here again, because of the cleanliness issues. I also had reached out to the property about check in weeks before our trip and never heard back.

This place needs attention!!!

Great location & easy check in. Both upstairs beach facing window wind outs broken, seal on glass behind wood stove broken and sweating, old furniture with thread bare pillows, worn out mattress upstairs, old bedding, musty downstairs from wet sheetrock in garage with mildew. Our downstairs guests left after two days to rent a room at the motel two doors down. Very nice clean, modern kitchen and appliances. The place was okay but does not command the price being charged. Not even close.

Decent

This house is on an amazing location and the functionality of it is great! However, the house wasn't really clean which: 1. Is in contrast with the fee that was over 25% of the total cost and; 2. Made the wear and tear of the somewhat older furniture even more visible and feel-able. Cleanliness is a big part of comfort, so that's why the title is "decent".

Not well maintained, great location

As others have said, there's a lot of deferred maintenance not captured in the pictures. The water damage in the lower level made my allergies flare and I would not recommend adults stay in the 3rd bedroom. There doesn't appear to be a lock between the en suite doors connecting to next door townhouse. Views were great, but we'll look for a different spot for our next visit to the coast.
