The house was clean , the kitchen was well stocked, lots of dishes, etc, but does need a shrimp boil deep pot. Beds were clean, but no extra blankets in closet and mattress cover and fitted sheets came off the mattress every night. Perhaps deeper sheets would help.Eric was very accessible by text, and gave answers quickly.Our family had a lovely stay and enjoyed it very much!

This is our second stay here at Family Matters. The location is an A plus! The new walkway to the beach is great and we thoroughly enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook all our meals (too many of us to go out!) We made some great memories with our 4 children, their spouses and our 8 grandchildren.

Family Matters was a great place for our family trip of 8 (6 adults, 2 kids). Check in could not have been easier with all details provided before our arrival. The quick walk to the beach was perfect for the mornings, and the pool quickly became our afternoon hangout spot. We enjoyed the view from the porch which was larger than expected. The house was clean and the kitchen is well supplied for preparing family meals. Overall the house was as advertised although we wish it had been more clear that both master bedrooms were upstairs. Eric is a very responsive host - all in all, it was a wonderful stay!

Very well equipped house from anything needed in the kitchen to anything needed at the pool/beach. And not to mention for baby! Lots of memories made this past week. Hope to be back!!

Paradise!

Family Matters is a cozy and beautiful home with all the amenities you need on a vacation with a large group. The balcony provides a gorgeous view of the beach and it is a quick walk across the private access bridge to the sand. The pool and hot tub offer a great way to relax when the sand gets too hot. A beautiful trip to paradise!

Family Vacation 2025

We choose this house because of its location on the beach, outside amenities and size. Most things were as pictured and described. The host were great in working with us on our check in time. Since our main objective in vacation was to spend time with our grown children and our grandchildren we chose Family Matters. All in all we had a great vacation!!

Houses are very close together, for privacy reasons I would recommend a curtain or shade of some sort for sides on porch over looking ocean to provide more privacy. House was excellent for our needs, very clean and plenty of room,we had 10 people

We stayed with 15 of us eight adults and seven children nine years and under. It was an awesome vacation vacation. We started at the beach each day then went to the pool/hot tub. The kids loved all the possibilities of where they could play furniture could use some updating, but knowing more than 15 people rent it was fine for us

Family vacation

Has everything you need for a fun family vacation. No need to bring beach chairs, towels or kids toys. Pool was great. The kids had a great time. Beach access was great.

Family vacation

House was perfect! The pictures for living room are deceiving. It’s much larger than the pictures show. Any issues we had or questions, Eric took care of immediately and responded to my messages quickly! The proximity to the ocean is perfect and we lucked out on perfect weather our whole vacation! I would totally recommend the ice cream shop on the pier. It’s amazing! Thank you for your accommodations!

Spring Break Relaxation

This place was amazing. We had 16 people. Perfect location for all of us. We rented a golf cart, but its easily walkable to the Pier and the restaurants. The pool and hot tub were fantastic and made for a wonderful week! Highly recommend this place and the owner is extremely responsive and helpful! Love that this area is not super crowded during spring break.

Nice place.

Great views. Pool and hot tub were dirty but host took care of that right away and any other issues we may have had. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect place.

Small Beach Wedding

The house was amazing. The pool and hit tub made for some great wedding pictures. We loved the house. Having a bathroom in each bedroom was great! The patio and short walk to the beach was perfect. We will definitely come back next year

Great family beach trip

We had a great family beach trip! The layout and size of the house worked well for our family of 14 with plenty of space to spread out when needed but also allowed us to hang out together and eat together without being crowded. The bunk bed space worked great for the kids! It is a great location, right on the beach and close to places to eat. The beach itself was very clean with lots of soft sand, quiet, and wasn’t overly crowded. We also enjoyed using the pool almost every day. There were fun pool floats and some beach toys available for the kids to use as well. We didn’t use the hot tub during our trip but it was a nice option to have. The air conditioning was very effective at keeping the house cool! Eric was a very responsive host and quick to remedy any issues that arose. Overall we had a wonderful time and would definitely love to stay here again next year!

Great Family vacation spot

Family Matters is a great name for it. Great for all ages. Loved view of beach and easy access to beach. Pool was great and 5 bed rooms plus bunk beds in hall was perfect for our group of 14.

Amazing stay!

Our family had a fabulous experience at Family Matters! The property was well kept and had everything we needed for our stay. Traveling with two young children can be difficult, but the home had many accommodations for our kids (high chair, baby gate, etc.). We loved having a private pool and used it daily! You cannot beat the easy beach access and views at Family Matters. Our family enjoyed sitting on the deck each night and soaking in the views and sounds of the ocean. The owners were always very responsive and helpful with anything we needed; the neighbors are great as well! We hope to return to Family Matters in the future. It was a fantastic stay!

Myrtle Beach Family Matters

Our stay in Myrtle Beach at Family Matters was fabulous!! Our two daughters, a son-in-law, a 16 & 12 yr old granddaughter and our 14yr old grandson were with us. The waves at the beach were awesome for everyone and once we were beached out, we went to the pool & some to the hot tub. It was walkable to restaurants and an easy drive to anything you wanted. My husband and grandson enjoyed a couple of golf outings. Everyone had their own space and bathroom and the inside the house was open for dining and game playing. The owner was easy to work with and the neighbor was a wonderful help while we were there. I highly recommend Family Matters !!!

Great Extended Family Vacation Spot

This property worked out very well for our extended family gathering of 10 people. It has a great location right on the beach. The pool works well as a change of pace from the ocean waves too.

My wife and I love to travel (20 countries & counting), spoil our Pug Kiki, & watch HGTV together, so it is only fitting that we bought Family Matters in April 2019, so we could put our obsession with “How close can you Beach” to rest! Our favorite travels were always beautiful beaches (originally from Ohio & North Carolina, we even got married on the beach in Myrtle Beach, SC), and we fell in love with Surfside Beach, as you get the best of both worlds – close to the city with tons to do, but also remote enough for uncrowded beaches and a place to rest & recharge with beautiful ocean views & sunrises. We are so happy to be able to share our home, Family Matters, with you and hope you enjoy your stay here and make many memories with your loved ones to take back home with you!
