Our overall experience at 12 Marsh Creek was good, but there were many, many issues that prevented our stay from being so much better.
The location of the property and the layout of the house were pluses. As was having a garage and use of the golf carts. The kitchen was well equipped with utensils, dishes, glasses, etc.
But the issues began from our first entry into the house. It was quickly obvious that either the house had not been cleaned, or the effort was cursory at best. Floors and counters were dusty. The refrigerator was full of food from the previous guest. The kitchen cupboards were full of packages at various stages of usage. Much of this can be attributed to a poor cleaning service, which an absentee landlord has a difficult time monitoring.
But we had multiple observations of the lack of routine maintenance that concerned us. The Jacuzzi had mold growing on a jet port, the deck has dry rot, there is mold on furniture and fans in the porch, there is rust on the metal frames of windows and doors, HVAC vents were covered in dust/lint. In industry terms, the property is tired.
The owner was notified of the cleaning issues, but there was no follow-up to remedy the situation. We cleaned the house to begin our stay. Rough start, but we learned to overlook the short-comings and enjoy the remainder of our stay.
