Beautifully put together cabin. The view is amazing of Fontana Lake. We were able to see an eagle as advertised. Would definitely book again. Comfortable beds, plenty of kitchen items. They have done a great job with this property. Nicest vacation rental I've stayed at.

The property was peaceful with breathtaking views! We rented both cabins with our friend group and enjoyed both deck spaces and the fire pit. The cabins were clean, tastefully appointed, and accessible to the marina and the town shops and restaurants. We’d stay here again!

Absolutely fantastic!

The view was unbelievable and the setting was so quiet. The cabin was exactly as listed, very clean, and the handicapped accessible features were great. The wifi was excellent and we had no problems. I was skeptical when I saw the location, but it was perfect. Every detail was covered, from the supplies in the kitchen, the bathrooms, laundry, etc. We had an amazing stay, thanks!

Short anniversary trip for us while our kiddos were off to summer camps. Everything was perfect! Better than expected. The homeowners really thought of everything when it comes to their guest! Amazing sunrises on the amazing covered porch! Comfortable settings inside! Everything was just amazing! Communication with homeowner was excellent! Just a dream getaway from the madness of adulthood. Also, recommend the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad!

Perfect place to retreat for our anniversary. The views are absolutely breathtaking, pictures can’t do it justice. Incredibly quiet area. House was clean and decorated in lake lake decor. Owners were extremely prompt in responding to a question we had and were extremely helpful. If the owners ever want to sell the property, we’ll be first in line :)Also, the town is a short drive away and enjoyed talking with the owners of a local brewery and unique diner for breakfast. There are several options. Rented a pontoon for the day on Fontana Lake, well worth it!

Heaven on Earth

This property was perfect for our family! Michelle was very responsive to me when we needed things. We even got some amazing honey from her and her Spouse brought it to our doorstep within 15 minutes! It is so good! We plan to bring our extended family back to stay in all of the cabins in the future. I believe they would Love it there! We Loved it so much that we didn’t want to leave! Thank you so much!

Quiet escape with amazing view

Mountain top getaway

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay; so peaceful and quiet. We hit some really cold and windy weather and couldn’t be outside as much as we’d liked. But the property was found to be exactly as advertised. As everyone has commented, the views were fantastic and we enjoyed the outdoor firepit and decks. And celebrated an early Thanksgiving there.

Tranquility and peace

My wife and I decided that we wanted to spend our 19th wedding anniversary in the mountains with some friends. We came across this beautiful picturesque mountain view while searching on VRBO and decided to stay here because it had all of the accommodations we needed. We are so glad that we chose this place! We had a great time with our friends! If you are looking for a place to unwind and get away from the busyness of everyday life this is the right place to stay. The view is awe inspiring and serene. Would definitely recommend this cozy getaway.

Eagles Nest

The property is wonderful & the views are so amazingly beautiful! This is our 3rd time staying here so you know we truly love & enjoy this place. However, there were a couple things that had changed.. there is a cost now involved with the 2nd bundle of wood for the firepit & the gas fireplace is now seasonal which we had not dealt with previously. We were there later this year in Oct. 2024 than last year in Oct.2023 so we were expecting to use the fireplace & enjoy it with our morning coffee...not this time...ha.. it's the little things :) Michelle & Shannon are great hosts & it is a lovely soulful place.. the Kiley's

Beautiful View!!

We have stayed in Eagle's Nest a few times now and each time has been excellent. Shannon and Michelle are easy to communicate with and very accommodating. The beds are very comfortable. And the view from the back of the cabin cannot be described as to how beautiful it is! Words do not do it justice, it must be seen to truly be appreciated. We are amazed each time we stay here and look forward to returning soon!

Unbeatable Views, great location!

Photos don’t lie, this home and view were just stunning!! Directions to the property were spot on, very easy to follow. Communication with the owners was always prompt. I was worried about the town after Hurricane Helene, but they assured me the town and cabins were fine and ready for visitors. The fall colors were just starting to really pop towards the end of our trip, so watching the sun’s orange glow on the trees was unreal. We originally booked for 4 but brought my mother in law since the listing said it slept 6 people. When we arrived, the cabin had exactly 4 sets of towels and washcloths, and no extra bedding for the sofa bed. I texted Michelle and she sent the PM right away with extra towels and bedding. I grabbed the bedding from her but she asked to bring in the basket of towels. I was slightly embarrassed since my teenage boys were sprawled out in the living room but of course let her in. She just came in, looked around for a second and set the towels on the counter, it was all very quick and again, so prompt so we appreciated that! There is an extra charge per person after the 4th, which is in the fine print so I didn’t have an issue with it and it’s definitely our fault for changing the number of guests. I just wanted to point that out for future travelers so you make sure you book with the exact number of people actually going so you have enough towels and bedding. We truly loved our stay here, we watched the bald eagle for hours and just enjoyed the property.

Absolutely Amazing!

We just returned from an unforgettable stay at Eagle’s Nest, where we celebrated my wife’s 50th birthday in style! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the breathtaking views of Fontana Lake and the Great Smoky Mountains. The serene landscape provided the perfect backdrop for a special getaway. The cabin itself is a masterpiece, built with an incredible attention to detail by local artisans. Every corner is adorned with unique artwork and handcrafted furniture, creating a cozy yet luxurious atmosphere. The fact that it is completely fragrance-free and chemical-free made our stay even more enjoyable, as we felt completely at ease in such a healthy environment. One of the highlights of our trip was witnessing the Northern Lights—an awe-inspiring experience we’ll never forget! We also appreciated the well-equipped kitchen and the comfortable living spaces, which made it easy to unwind after a day of exploring. The outdoor fire pit was a perfect spot for evening relaxation under the stars. Eagle’s Nest is ideally located near a plethora of outdoor activities. We enjoyed hiking, kayaking, and exploring the charming shops in Bryson City. It’s easy to see why this area is consistently ranked among the best outdoor destinations! Relaxing time away

If you’re looking for a getaway that provides a setting to spend time relaxing and reflecting on the beautiful things life offers while taking a break from the daily routines that so often tend to not include that, then this one fits into that category! My husband and I purchased 12 acres of land in 2013 surrounded by the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Nantahala National Forest. Little did we know (for the thick pine saplings) that we had a Million Dollar View of a Horseshoe Bend on Fontana Lake and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park! It took viewing Google Maps to see what a gem we had found. We moved to Bryson City after selling our home and printing business in Fletcher NC (close to Asheville). My husband grew up in Bryson City, and I fell in love with this "Gateway to the Smokies" town when we built a house boat at Almond Boat Park in 2013, that now floats on Fontana Lake. We started building Eagle's Nest soon after starting the build of Eagle's Landing (our first completed cabin) in Nov 2014 with the help of some great friends and a very talented builder. This is a completely different lifestyle than we're used to, and we are incredibly Grateful for all the Love, Support, and Divine Miracles that We have been Blessed with along the way. Now we're ready to share Eagle's Nest with you!

There's a Peace here that we've never felt before. This place is awe - inspiring. It almost forces you to stop in your tracks every time you look outside. We built Eagle's Nest to give our guests the feeling they were floating on water...and sometimes in clouds. From the Living Room and both Bedrooms there are French Doors that open out onto a 728 sq ft (partially covered) deck that extends out over top of Fontana Lake. From the theatrical morning sunrise to the day's last light, and on a clear night you can see the Milky Way, the show this magical place performs is ever changing and always jaw dropping.

We designed and built 'Eagle's Nest' to accommodate anyone. This cabin is wheelchair accessible with a sidewalk and wheelchair ramp. The large master bedroom and master bathroom include enough space to turn a wheelchair within a 5 foot radius. Without much extra time and materials, we've tried to create a thoughtful home, keeping everyone in mind.
We call this cabin Eagle's Nest because Bald Eagles are always near by the cabin. They can be seen flying close to the cabin's deck, playing in the air at eye level, and even diving into the lake after a fish. This year (2025) we witnessed the eagles building a nest on the Hickory Flats Peninsula. This is the closest part of the park projecting out into the lake. Now you can see them year round coming and going from this peninsula! This is an unforgettable experience.
