Cairns Home-Waterfront, family-friendly, wide water views

Cairns Home is a comfortable, family-friendly option with very reasonable pricing for a waterfront home in our area. We are sorry about the nearby construction during your stay. Unfortunately, new construction is something beyond our control, but we certainly understand it can be a little distracting. We appreciate your feedback and are happy you had an enjoyable stay overall!

It is apparent the arrival information sent 5 days prior to check-in was not read. The concerns mentioned in this review were clearly addressed in those instructions and also posted inside the home, including trash procedures and recommended items to bring. We know the messages were received, as the same instructions contained the door code used for check-in. Each reservation begins with full liquid soaps at every sink, trash bags in all cans, paper towels, and toilet paper in each bathroom. Seasonal trash pickup at this property does not begin until Memorial Day, which is why guests are directed to the nearby collection facility, which is free to use. This is standard practice for vacation rentals at Smith Mountain Lake. What is most surprising is that during your four-night stay, we received no communication regarding supplies, trash concerns, or any of the other issues mentioned here. The only message received was sent after hours in the evening before departure regarding trash disposal, which gave no time to respond. Had these concerns been communicated during your stay, we would have had the opportunity to help you. Smith Mountain Lake Vacation Rentals has been in business for over 30 years, and these procedures are common for vacation rentals throughout the lake area.
