The Hound Haus is a renovated A-frame tiny house centrally located to Purina Farms, WashMo, wine country, and St. Louis.

Ideal for a stay in the Show Me state for solo travelers, dog show competitors, and couples looking to enjoy the greater St. Louis area.

The home comes with a large TV, fully equipped kitchen, linens and towels, WIFI, and is set in the country. Note there are 2 other homes on the property that share the gravel drive as well.

THE SPACE

The Hound Haus has an open living, dining, and kitchen area, and a queen sized bed in the upstairs loft. Full bathroom located on the main level past the kitchen.

Only 331 sq. ft. total, it is truly a tiny house!

Only 10 minutes to the Purina Events Center, the Hound Haus is popular with guests competing at events held throughout the year.

LIVING AREA

The living area has a beautiful rug, a love seat, and a flat screen smart TV with your favorite streaming apps already downloaded and ready for you to log into.

*Note that you will need to have your own Netflix, Hulu, Dish. etc. accounts to access those features as we do not share our accounts with you.*

KITCHEN

Fully equipped with stove, refrigerator, and microwave as well as several small appliances that you can't live without (i.e. Keurig, regular coffeemaker, teapot). The Hound Haus is equipped with white place settings, solid flatware, and glassware.

THE BEDROOM

With crisp white linens and a deliciously comfortable bed, your sleep is high priority at the Hound Haus. The loft bedroom has a sliding glass door for lots of natural light and a mounted TV on the wall.

BATHROOM

The clean, well lit bathroom just off the kitchen features a large mirror and has a full size step in shower. We provide shampoo and conditioner as well as a bar of locally made goat milk soap for each stay.

FRONT PORCH AND YARD

The tiny house has a small front porch with chairs to enjoy a cup of morning coffee or relax in the evening with local beer or wine while Fido plays in the yard.

PETS

A small dog is welcome to come with you, but only with prior approval. Please note that the county requires that you keep your dog on a leash outside and clean up the poo.

There is a per night dog rate that applies to ALL dogs on property, even those you choose not to bring inside the home.

NEIGHBORS

The Hound Haus shares the gravel drive with our Setter Haus and Fox Haus on the same property. You will see the other two homes nearby. Have friends with you? Book all three houses on the full property.

- Washington, Missouri and the Missouri River (downtown festivals, Town and Country Fair, large industrial park) @ 10-15 minutes
- East Central College and the Union industrial park @ 13-15 minutes
- Six Flags @ 20 minutes
- Missouri Wine Country in Augusta @ 25-30 minutes
- Other area wineries from Union (15 minutes) to New Haven (35 minutes) to Hermann (50 minutes)
- River floating on the Huzzah River, Current River, and the Meramec River @ 30-60 minutes
- Downtown St. Louis for Cardinals baseball, Blues hockey, the Fox Theatre, the St. Louis Zoo, the Muny, the Science Center, the Art Museum, Forest Park, the City Museum, the Arch, Missouri Botanical Gardens, and much more @ 40-60 minutes

GUEST ACCESS

Both levels of the home as well as the porch, deck, and yard are all yours to enjoy. There is a locked closet that is not accessible to guests.

- Rate is based on 1 person, there is per person fee for an additional guest, max of 2 people

🐶 Pre-approved dogs only, dog rate is $25 per night per dog plus taxes.

- If competing at Purina Farms, please inquire about the Purina Farms dog rate
- The dog rate applies to ALL dogs on property, even those you choose not to bring inside the home

💳 Credit card must be on file in case of damages. We will send you an email to authorize a $1 hold after your booking is confirmed. This hold begins 3 days before your arrival and is released 3 days after departure if there is no damage, no excessive cleaning needed, and no house rules are broken.

🚗 Drivers license will be required with our signed guest agreement after you book, along with a selfie holding your photo ID

🆔 We will perform a Guest ID verification securely through our payment processor after you book. The main purpose is to make sure no one has stolen your credit card and used it without your permission.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

You can purchase travel insurance for your reservation! The standard policy covers quite a few reasons for cancellation and applies to your whole traveling group.

Note that all new reservations have the option of purchasing a Cancel For Any Reason insurance policy besides the standard travel insurance policy. You can purchase this when you make your reservation with us, and the insurance is automatically connected to your stay.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If you cancel before 30 days of arrival, you receive a full refund of your deposit, less a cancellation fee. If you cancel within 30 days of arrival, there is no refund.
