Hello Heather, As listed in the photos of our properties yes some of them are more rustic as we do live in the forest of Big Bear as expected. Feel free to take a look at some of our more modern luxury homes to fit your needs. On behalf of Destination Big Bear, we sincerely apologize for the issues during your stay. Taking a deeper look into your reservation you never called to let us know about this issue. Cleaning is our top priority especially in the time we are living in. If you contacted us directly about this we could have happily resolved it by sending a cleaner out to the property. We are terribly sorry that your vacation wasn't up to par.
