We had reserved the apartment for 10 nights and left after 5.
The two main reasons were wifi was poor, prior to booking I asked if the wifi was good as it is essential for us. It is shared with the upstairs owner and at its best was 4.09mbps download 0.5mbps upload.
Secondly the main bedroom has two single beds pushed together, they are old very uncomfortable, lumpy and any slight movement squeaked, my husband slept in the lounge the final 3 nights. Other room no better
The owner informed me no one had ever complained before and he had used without problem. This didn't help not really an answer, I would be completely amazed at anybody finding them comfortable
After 2 sleepless nights I informed the owner we would be checking out early due to the above two issues, plus several other things I was unhappy about but would feedback on constructively.
He informed me he wouldn't refund the full cost of the extra 5 nights also that he wasn't obliged to refund anything.
I understand this but the apartment wasn't cheap especially for this time of year, and as a gesture of goodwill was surprised. I wasn't after compensation just a refund for the 5 nights.
The apartment has lovely gardens which we appreciated but inside it needs attention. Briefly the main bedroom had black mould on the walls due to previous guests not ventilating room, if this is a problem back to back bookings shouldn't be taken. It was difficult to have a good shower as shower head needed replacing, also mould on walls. Kitchen cupboards and draws all need emptying, cleaning and organising. There was nowhere to put our food we had to make room. Pictures sent to owner of our findings.
I asked also prior to booking, could I walk into Javea town from the apartment, I was advised it was 10 minutes. Admittedly it was 10 minutes to the outskirts, but you need a further 10 minutes to get to main hub. The walk is impossible of a night as no lighting, not many pavements and very narrow you have to step aside to allow cars to pass. It was difficult during daytime.
All things considered I still left apartment as I found it, hoovered, washed sheets and towels as common courtesy in the hope the owner would reconsider holding onto our funds, as he wouldn't have to incur a full cleaning fee. Unfortunately this wasn't the case and no thanks received.
I don't like to leave negetive reviews, but we both felt let down by the customer service and responses we received regarding our issues.
