This house is very spacious and well equipped. We had a group of 5 women friends and enjoyed the beach area for cocktails, the grill for a fish fry, and being able to spread out in the 4 large bedrooms. The location was perfect for birding at MaGee Marsh and Ottawa. It was also very close to a marina that offered numerous charters for fishing. Fred stayed in contact with us and was extremely helpful. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend this house.

What a beautiful beach location. Our grandchildren were in the water every opportunity, we had north east winds, which they were able to use the boogie boards and body surf, and the beach toys they loved. We played games every night in the sunroom.Enjoyed our stay!

STAY AWAY!! RIP OFF!!

Unless you want to stay in a home that is filthy with owners who lie and don't answer you when you really need them, this is your perfect getaway home!The way we were treated and ignored is so unprofessional.Just want everyone reading this to keep in mind that this is my 2nd time staying in this house and we were still ignored and disrespected.The first thing I notice is the house from the outside was infested with bugs everywhere. Picture yourself pulling into a house and the front door has cobwebbs and bugs hanging, no bother to even water the house down.There were dead bugs all over the deck area as well in the water they leave you to put your feet in before you enter the house.We walk into the home,its hard to say that anyone actually cleaned the house.I was only able to put a certain amount of pictures up but I have alot more I couldn't.The floor wasnt vacuumed, the kitchen was filthy, the bowls were wet with bugs in them, the washer dryer had mold, there was old clothes and socks on the floor probably from the previous guests.There were safety pins on the floor opened and we have babies with us in the house.We only seen them because they were stepped on.The summer room had black mold on the bottom boards.As the first night was coming to a close, we went to bed and found yellow stains and a red stain maybe blood? How did the owner respond, he answer my call and said he needed a few days and haven't heard from him since ignored calls and texts! We left after 1 Night!!

Lake Erie House

The homeowner was very friendly and communication was great. The kitchen was very well equipped. Our whole family enjoyed being right on Lake Erie. The sunrises and sunsets were beautiful! We appreciated the extras like beach toys, games, and books for the kids.

We loved our stay here! Plenty of room for our family of 6, and the house had everything you could need. Huge bonus that we didn’t have to bring beach towels or chairs, and the owners had plenty of condiments in the fridge. I know that sounds silly, but that’s one thing I hate about renting vacation houses, is having to buy all of these condiments that you’re only going to use for a few days! Quiet area, which was perfect! Loved having the firepit on the beach, and the concrete “patio” before you step into the sandy area. The neighborhood public beach is next door, which had us a little concerned when we first pulled up, only because we were hoping for a quiet few days. But there were literally never more than two or three individuals at that beach (and even that was infrequent), so it was never an issue. And the few people that were over on that beach were extremely friendly and pleasant to meet and chat with! The water was the perfect temperature in early July. We did have one day where there was a lot of green algae in the water (which we know to expect sometimes on Erie), but it was gone by the next morning and never returned. Beds were comfortable. We also loved that there were box fans in just about every room. Lots of areas to gather where everyone fit and could eat, hang out, and play games together. Our group was small enough that we even had an extra table for games and an ongoing puzzle. Cheryl and Fred are lovely hosts with excellent communication!

Very Thoughtful Hosts

Fred did a Welcome Call with me the week of our rental to make sure we had all the info we needed. They also were quickly responsive to any additional questions or needs. Lots of extra/considerate touches. This location was quickly a family favorite!

All in one: Home and Vacation!

We had a particular need for a site that could accommodate a wheelchair-bound guest. We were all able to enjoy the lake, even from inside the house! This home has the guests' comfort in mind and has EVERY household item that you don't have to pack! A lovely property with both shaded and sunny private beach - really finds a way to reach every person's level of comfort.

Wonderful location and plenty of space

The house was stocked with all basic supplies and there was plenty of room for our group of 10 (6 adults and 4 kids). The beach was great! Additionally, the location is within easy driving distance to various day adventures.

A hidden gem

Love this place!!! The home is spacious, the beds are comfortable, the lanai is the most incredible room, everything you need is probably there, and the water is right outside the door. We didn’t want a boardwalk type vacation. This home is exactly what we were looking for. You’re tucked away on Lake Erie where you can actually relax and watch the sunset. It’s very private and peaceful. Everyone we met was incredibly friendly. The private beach is amazing. We could float in the water without worrying about sharks. My 7 yr old son was happy it was unsalted water. Tons of room for activities on the cement patio like collecting sea glass or fossils. I highly recommend this home for your next vacation. Especially if you have children. It’s truly a hidden gem.

Location was great, house had everything we needed and more. Lots of places to relax. Just wish the beach wasn’t so rocky. Pre check in phone call was not necessary. Everything spoken about was listed in the agreement. But overall would stay again.

Lovely get away

Our family had a lovely time together staying at Whit’s end, We had a small issue that the owners promptly addressed and fixed. The patio and firepit on the water were a nice addition to the end of each day.

Roomy for out 3 familiers. Kids loved the beach. Adults had long converations on the beach patio by a fire pit. Great trips to Magee Marsh. Nice museum. Day trips to Kelly Island and Cedar point. Plenty of eating space. Well equiped. Quiet area. Nice walking area.

Great isolated location on the lake!

We appreciated being able to all sit in the comfy living room together. We also enjoyed the dining table with 10 place sittings. We did have a bit of trouble getting use to the throw rugs/runners placed on the carpet. Several of us tripped but thankfully no falls.

We enjoyed our stay during the time of the 2024 eclipse. There was enough room for our extended family (8 adults, 2 children). With multiple large tables, one could always be used for board games, and others for meals. The house has games and puzzles inside and beach toys for outside. The private beach area with the firepit was great for our family.

Decent house- overbearing hosts

The house was nice and big, if a bit dated with a few quirks, but a great location on Lake Erie. Very nice neighborhood. A fabulous winery called Gideon nearby! The hosts requested $25 extra for housekeeping AFTER we disclosed the number of guests and had paid the agreed upon cost. I complained about this hidden cost and after some back and forth they did rescind the fee. The hosts sent us 15 messages full of very detailed information and instructions. LOTS of notes in the house too including how to open the screen door, how to use the grill, flush the toilet and what to set the thermostat at (73). We were even asked to wash out the inside of the outdoor garbage cans! The hosts DEMANDED a personal phone call prior to the stay. This was after we had to send photocopies of our drivers licenses and sign a 6 page contract. The contract said the door code would be sent 1 week before our stay. 4 days before our stay, the host asked for a personal phone call to discuss all the rules. I had a very very busy week I did not have time for a phone call to explain the rules - especially after the copious amount of communication we’d already endured. I asked to avoid this phone call. The host refused to release the door code to me unless I made time in my schedule to talk to him on the phone. The hosts made this stay unpleasant before it had began. Honestly, the house was fine, but I would not recommend anyone stay here due to the hosts behavior.

Fred grew up just north of Detroit, was educated in Colorado (courtesy of the USAF) and upstate New York, and retired from USAF in 2005. Cheryl grew up in Boston and was educated there as well as in Missouri and Michigan.

We reside just east of Dayton, OH, and have 3 married children (plus 2 grands); they live in Indiana, Washington, and Kentucky. We purchased this summer vacation property in 2019 as a legacy for our children, grandchildren and future generations. We absolutely love this home as well as the community and we're confident you'll love it too!

On 02 October 2020, we registered a new LLC under the name of Lakeside Sunrise-Sunset LLC exclusively for our lake house business.

We also have another LLC titled EagleLight Properties LLC, and it was established in Ohio in 2015 while acquiring distressed townhouses and condominiums in the Dayton, Ohio area to rehab and rent ("flip & hold"). We provide regular maintenance and improvements to our properties and are blessed to have great tenants!

Property has it's own 40' wide x 100' deep private walled sand beach with recently upgraded patio (2023) and reinforced walls (2023), nautically-appointed Lanai, wood deck w/tables & benches/chairs, and Weber gas grill (stored in garage). Spectacular lake views, sunrises and sunsets from the beach, Living Room and Lanai!! The views from the Primary Bedroom, Living Room, 2 upstairs bedrooms and Lanai are priceless! Also, the daily parade of Canada Geese up and down the shoreline is worth keeping an eye open for them, especially in the Spring with their ducklings trailing behind.
