We are regularly going to Florida, and most of the time we are staying in the same resort (Paradise Palms). This time, we wanted to change, especially because of the nice pictures of the resort's waterpark and also of the rental home itself that were shown on this rental home's webpage on Vrbo.
It turned out that photos can be pretty deceiving. The rental home was a bit worn down, not very well maintained and also not very well cleaned when we arrived (we found hairs and dirt/dust all over the house). The swimming pool of the house was very bad also - dirty, very small and the bottom and side walls made out of a very rough material that scratched the skin whenever we touched it. There was also not one single pool cleaning over the whole 2 weeks we stayed there (other resorts have daily pool cleaning), so that I ended up cleaning the (overly chlored) pool myself whenever we (reluctantly) entered.
As for the resort, Windsor Hills, it was pretty disappointing, too. The resort pool at the club house looked way bigger on the photos, had nothing interesting, and even the so-called water park offered only a little splash area and two slides.
So, overall a rather disappointing experience, especially for the steep price we paid. Next time we will go back to Paradise Palms, which is bigger, cleaner, nicer, and an overall much better value for the money.
