Great spot, great host

The whole property is very clean and tidy. The host is very helpful and friendly. The cottage is easy to get to and just a few minutes from town and the ski hill. The waterfront is nice for swimming. Overall, we were very happy with the spot and would return.

Large cottage with comfy accomodations!

We loved the large stone fireplace after a day of skiing at Calabogie Peaks Resort. Convenient location, and accommodated 2 families. Frank was very responsive. A good value!

A great time was had by all. Because of the rain and cold, we could not take advantage of the lovely outdoors but luckily the cottage was warm and homey. Thanks to Frank for making sure that we had everything we needed. Already looking to return in the fall.

Enjoyable stay, roomy cottage

I rented this cottage with my children and grandchildren. The cottage had lots of room, the deck was wonderful, and watching the sunrise from the dock was great. The kitchen is very small and has no dishwasher, which is a drawback. But all in all I would recommend renting this cottage. The location is fantastic being just an hour from Ottawa. Frank was a pleasant host and very quick to respond to our questions.

Frank’s place is spacious, clean and comfortable. The view across the lake is beautiful. Frank himself is pleasant and a great communicator. He helped us out with any questions or requests and made sure our stay was excellent. Highly recommended

Amazing short stay

We had a great stay at this cottage. It was very clean and surprisingly large. We had absolutely everything we needed. Property manager was nearby and easily accessible. Located right on the lake it provided us with a much needed R&R. Would definitely return.

Perfect

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was perfect for our group of 8. It was warm and clean. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen had all we needed. Frank was a great host, very helpful, accommodating and patient. The scenery was relaxing. Hoping we can come back in the summer months!!

Great getaway on Calabogie Lake

My friends and I had a wonderful time at Frank's VRBO. The beds were comfy (except that the bunk beds were a little creaky - probably ok for kids, but disrupted the sleep of the 2 adults who shared that room.) Kitchen is small but well-equipped. Living room is large, with very comfortable furniture. It has a "cottage feel", which is part of the charm. Lovely back deck, with plenty of room for outdoor dining. Great fire pit overlooking the lake. I would recommend bringing your own watercraft, unless you are used to sit-upon kayaks and paddle boards. Calabogie Lake is very popular due to its proximity to Ottawa. Expect to see other cottagers and lots of lake activity in the high season. We were there in late September and didn't see too many people on the lake, even on the Saturday, so it can be a quiet get-away in the short off-season between summer and ski season.

Wonderful vacation

The location and views from the property are absolutely spectacular. Particularly the sunrise. Our host Frank was exceptional. He was available and answered all our questions promptly. Frank went above and beyond in making us feel welcome and comfortable and we could not have asked for more in a host. The cottage was very roomy and comfortable. The accommodations suited our group. Only issue for our group is our 90 year old mother with her walker had a hard time accessing the bathrooms but other then that a great vacation. Thank you Frank.

Wonderful Weekend away

We had a lovely stay at Frank's place. He was very attentive and met all our needs. Even with a big power outage we were well taken care of. We were right on the waterfront and spent a of time on the dock. There is so much to see and do nearby. Thanks!

Beautiful Location

My wife and I spent three sunny days at the property. The lake is beautiful, especially at sunrise and at night for watching stars. Frank the host gave us a great list of local attractions and activities.

Fantastic Girls Getaway !

From booking to checkout Frank was very attentive to any questions or concerns that we had. Myself and 3 friends enjoyed a fabulous 3 days to celebrate a birthday and a much needed getaway. The cottage is clean and comfortable and stocked with everything we needed to cook and eat. Including a bbq. The deck is a nice size and has a power awning if you want a retreat from the sun. The waterfront location is beautiful ! You can watch the beautiful sunrise/ sunsets and listen to the loons calling. It was so peaceful. There is also a nice fire pit The beds were very comfortable as were the pillows. Thank you Frank for allowing us to rent and we can’t wait to come back ! 5 ⭐️

Great place for a get away

Frank was friendly and very accommodating making sure all our needs were met. Location was easy to access and quiet. For hikers many trails are nearby with beautiful scenery. It was nice to have fishing right out the back door. My wife caught a beautiful small mouth bass. There pike and perch as well from the shore. We were just a bit early for fall colours, leaves were just starting to change but still pretty. We feel we got more than our money’s worth and recommend a stay here.

Another wonderful visit -September 2021

My wife and I returned for a second visit this past week. We enjoyed the location and the peaceful surroundings. The online pictures tell the story of what the cottage offers. All the amenities needed were provided. We are happy once again with the choice and will plan to return again. Thanks for the hospitality Frank.

Weekend stay

This is a beautiful area, but as someone from the country, it was very crowded. When I go to the cottage I go to get away and just take a breath, there were so many cottages around I felt like I was in the suburbs. The owner did require a seperate deposit upon when we got there, and was on site the full time. Were on the younger side, and so I think he was worried we would be roudy, which is understandable however it was a strange way to start a visit, he did later apologize for coming on so strong. With that being said he's very nice, and the whole experience was pleasant but not the solitude my soul was searching for as an introvert. With that being said, the cottage was beautiful and we had a ton of fun, there are lots of amenities in the area. This is a beautiful get away and if your more social then I am, I believe you would have a great time. If your a family or an older group I think you would really like this cottage.

Great stay

We had a very nice weekend getaway in Calabogie. The owner was very quick to respond. The lake view is beautiful and we had a wonderful time outside at the fire pit.
