Nice property

Nice villa just cold showers and no water pressure in the showers. Other than that was a nice clean villa.

Thanks Chris. It was a pleasure having you to stay. Very sorry about the water pressure and cold showers. The problem is with the Water Company, Galasa, who has installed a new water main in the village. They have teething problems. We are so pleased that everything else helped to compensate, and thanks again for your patience and understanding. The community is working closely with Galasa to resolve the problem.

Thanks Geoff & Sue

It was a topstay in serena. The house with pool is very, very nice and typical for region, you’ve everything you need to cook in the house, good WiFi, the’re 2 terraces, bbq, espresso machine, shower outside. Serena is little hamlet, 35 min from mojacar/playa, very nice drive to it. The owner Geoff and Sue were very helpful and hospitable: easy to communicate by mail, lots of information about region, (top)restaurants, very lovely beaches, etc… helpful in case of problems, last day we could stay till 14 h since our plane was late evening. Thanks!!

Decevant

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We were incredibly sorry to hear of the concerns you have raised and can assure you that any apparent issues have now been resolved. It is our utmost priority that our guests enjoy the use of our beautiful home and as such take pride in our swift response to offer solutions to any problems should they arise either via email or telephone (the numbers are available in the house on the noticeboard.) The rural Spanish village location of our traditional home is something that we believe makes our property truly unique and, ourselves, as well as our many other guests, (as you will see from our other very positive reviews) thoroughly enjoy the fantastic character of the village itself.

Our guests were very kind and we would welcome them back again. With respect to air conditioning, we would like to point out that this summer has been exceptionally hot and dry throughout Europe. We do provide fans in every room, but old stone houses like this rarely need air-conditioning.

We were looking to purchase a home in the sun, close to beaches, golf courses and ski slopes, but not in a resort. We wanted an old house that we could renovate, in a quiet Spanish village, with enough space for a garden and a pool. Serena fitted the bill! We completed renovations in 2005, built an annexe in 2006, and commenced holiday lettings in 2007. The Cortijo has been full every summer since then and is used by family and friends at other times. We have even had lettings at Christmas/New Year, when the mild, sunny weather is great for golfing or walking holidays. This is the time that the almond trees start to blossom, and the orange trees are full of fruit.

Peace and tranquillity! Far from the madding crowd, yet near enough to all amenities. No traffic noise. No traffic! Great walking and cycling, both flat and hilly. Watching the shadows climb the mountain at dusk, with a glass of chilled Rioja Blanco. Pure magic. Watching Iberian Ibex on the mountain at sunrise, with a cup of tea. Having been awoken by the village cockerel. Siestas! Wild mountain thyme. Night swimming. Good food and good company. Who needs more?
