Pottering around the coast in a boat, stopping off for a drink, food and swim is an idyllic summer pastime isn't it? Just ambling down to the taverna is also blissful - glad you got to enjoy both.

Delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay in Koutsounada, and that you managed to get out and about a little by boat. We are very lucky having Cavo Barbaro on our doorstep - like you, we always seem to end up eating there, despite our very best intentions to eat in! I think Fotis and Kallina produce some of the best food on the island.

So happy to hear that Koutsounada was as you remembered it William. There’s nothing to beat being able to amble down to the beach for a morning/evening swim. We’re so lucky to have Cavo Barbaro on our doorstep - for those times when cooking seems like too much trouble, which in our case is most days! We can’t wait to be there ourselves in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for your lovely review of your stay in Koutsounada, Kate. It sounds like you managed to pack quite a lot in during your week there. That coastal walk to Agios Stefanos, is stunning isn't it? We sometimes stop half way to swim off one of the deserted beaches, or to enjoy a picnic, before pressing on for the very welcome refreshments at our journey's end. We much prefer Cavo Barbaro too - the other taverna is overpriced and lacks authenticity somehow. We'd love to welcome you back anytime - meanwhile enjoy the autumnal weeks ahead!
