Dear Monir. I am sorry that you were unhappy with the apartment. If you had let me know there were problems whilst you were staying, I could have tried to resolve them for you. The apartment has a hob and a microwave grill. There is no oven and that is clearly indicated in the property details. The apartment is surrounded by fields and unfortunately that does mean that there will sometimes be cockroaches around. They will then occasionally get into the apartment and so I have ensured there is Cucal cockroach repellent available for any future guests. The cleaner noticed that the aircon was leaking on the day after you departed. I therefore arranged for an engineer to come out and it turned out that instead of being set to aircon, the unit had been switched to dehumidify. Switching it back to aircon immediately resolved the problem. BW Tabitha

I am sorry you were unhappy with your stay. The advert clearly states that there is only one air con unit in the apartment, which is enough to keep the entire place cool if the windows and external door are kept shut, particularly when the internal fans are used as well. The swimming pool is shared with the other apartments and so will be busy in peak holiday season, which is the case in August. The apartment is located next to fields and so inevitably, there will be some insects that come on to the terrace. Again, if the external door is kept shut, they should not come into the apartment but the occasional one may get through. Finally, the advert also does state that there is no WiFi. Since roaming charges for data are usually the same across the EU as in the host country, this is not usually a problem for calls etc. Most of the local cafes have public WiFi access, as do the major shopping centres if necessary. Having a digital detox for a couple of weeks is not a bad idea…

I am really sorry that the apartment had not been properly cleaned before your arrival. Our local agent employed a new cleaner this year and they clearly have not been good enough. We are looking for a different cleaner from now on. Tabitha

I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay. The apartment should have been fully cleaned before your arrival, so I have taken this up with our local agents and I apologise wholeheartedly that rubbish was left. This was not something raised in our many communications during your stay. As the apartment is in the countryside, insects will come on to the terrace but there are no cockroaches in the apartment. We provided insecticide to kill them as soon as concerns were raised but it is not possible to get rid of them completely. The beach has been badly affected by overuse of chemicals in the fields around the Mar Menor and the floods in 2019-20. This has been recognised as an environmental concern at a European level and the boardwalk installed by the local authorities does allow access to the sea avoiding mud and algae. The more people who complain to local and national government about the Mar, the better, as maybe something will finally be done. Unfortunately, wildlife and the state of the beach are things which are outside my control.

Sorry that you did not find the inside of the apartment comfortable. The size of the TV is clearly shown on the pictures of the apartment and the advert does state that there is no WiFi. This is why the price of the rental is kept low. There is WiFi available in the local cafes and restaurants for those desperate to keep connected...:-)
