This beautiful little house has a gorgeous yard, foliage, great layout and is conveniently located. HOWEVER, It is in desperate need of care and maintenance. My husband reinstalled three screens on windows that were just sitting beside the house outside, we had to clean pots, pans, silverware, kitchen utensils, etc. before we use them. The drawers in the kitchen have flour or something spilled in them and it is meshed in the utensils. The grill took over an hour to clean before we could use it—The master bathroom door does not open without great difficulty as it needs to be adjusted in size, and has damage apparently from the effort it takes to open it. Several windows don’t have screens so if we open them for the cool, beautiful evening air, bugs would come in. Cobwebs, dead bugs, dirt, etc. in windowsills cracks and crevices as well as skylights. At the front entrance, we were met with a sign to remove our shoes, which we did, and our feet and socks were brown and gross from walking on the floors!! We vacuumed and still had to put a blanket down for the baby to play on the floor or anyone to sit there. Damage to several old pieces of furniture made it sketchy to use—the coffee table in the living room is broken. All beds were old and way too soft/sunken.
It needs a good cleaning, and it needs to be cared for by somebody who will do the maintenance. It is a beautiful home and location, but it needs attention. It was sad to see the neglect of such a beautiful older space.
Oh—and we contacted the manager prior to arrival for information and was given incorrect info, such as we had to bring our own firewood when there was plenty there….complete with an axe to chop the bigger logs.
So sad to see the neglect—not worth the $ when we had to do so much to make our 8 night stay doable.
