I was initially disappointed, but not at all surprised by the review, Julie Donvanaband has written. To begin with, shortly after her arrival, I received an ill-tempered phone call, telling me there was no TV reception, but then received, an email the next morning, informing me the problem had been resolved, and so, no need for any further action on my part!? She had also complained about no WiFi, but had she opened the Villa Information book, she would have seen the leaflet with the necessary password, duly tucked into the pages, it's also printed on the underside of the router! At no time during her stay, did Julie Donvanaband make me aware of any problem with the showers or that she deemed the cooker and drainer, greasy (which they were not). At all times, I deal with reported defects, promptly and in person, and try to rectify every problem ASAP. I am honest in my description of the villa, describing it as "old, with few mod cons", and as a consequence, this is reflected in the pricing. It is NOT an expensive villa, it is NOT a "high end" rental property, and, furthermore, makes no pretence at being one! It is a traditional four bedroomed villa with a pool, and for this, she paid 600€ for the week, and no...she did not receive a welcome pack, they are an optional extra!! She griped about the towels not being left out, but if only couples are staying, I leave the cupboards unlocked. This was a deliberate action, not an oversight, they can use as many towels as they like!!! Yes, the bedding could be newer, but it was freshly laundered and perfectly serviceable. On reflection, I'm happy in knowing this lady will never return to the villa, and for that, I'm rather thankful. The vast majority of people who visit, love their stay, and several, return year after year, some for their fourth or fifth time. Objectively, the house could do with being up-dated, the furnishings modernised and nowadays, of course, there's always room for more "tech". On the other hand, this beautiful, old, villa, has a simple, no frills, charm, with an amazing pool, in a great location and has fantastic views. These combined factors, more than compensate for any perceived "failings". Undoubtedly,it is a great value holiday home!!
