Amazing Family House Sleeps 12 with Private Hot Tub in Tranquil Location

Set in the Heart of the old market town of Holmfirth, famous for the home of the popular TV Series 'Last Of The Summer Wine', the house is only a 5 minute walk to the busy village centre, set in the beautiful Holme Valley the property has commanding views over the surrounding countryside, an ideal base for walking and cycling without having to drive anywhere. The Peak District is only a 10 mins away, and Holmfirth has plenty of restaurants, wine bars, cafes, and local pubs (all home cooked food) for dining out. In Holmfirth and the surrounding area, there are plenty of activities for children of all ages. The house has private (enclosed gardens) and attractive decking with furniture for eating outside, there is also a large games room and BAR and 2 TV lounges, (52'plasma) making the property ideal for large families, or 2 families wanting to share, with a separate staircase leading to two of the bedrooms and a bathroom, (this allows large groups some privacy). Hot Tub Spa which is for your own sole use during your stay ( time restrictions apply at night)
Note prices are for up to 10 people extra charges apply for larger groups
There is an additional covid secure cleaning charge of £100 on all bookings until further notice

Amazing stay, the house was really nice, great location and me and my family had the best time away for my mums 60th and new year, the owner came to clean the hot tub everyday and the communication was great though out our stay. Would highly recommend to everyone. Thank you again.

Beautiful and comfortable extended family retreat

We travelled from Australia and stayed in the property with our UK extended family for a wonderful Christmas. All communications were clear, helpful and timely and the hosts had gone 'above and beyond' to decorate the house and make it a very special family Christmas. I would thoroughly recommend this property and the hosts.

Golden Wedding Celebration

This is an amazing, spacious & lovely property with beautiful views. It has plenty of room options to accommodate all age groups. We enjoyed a fantastic few days in a wonderful property and location. Family Fun

The property is beautiful with amazing views. A great place for a large group. There's so much space and lot's to do. The kitchen is well equiped and great to entertain in. The karaoke was lots of fun and there's also a bar with a fridge to store your drinks. The hottub was wonderful and very spacious. would definitely recommend.

The cottage was beautiful. The view amazing . The rooms where spacious and the quality of the furnishings was very good. Well equipped kitchen and bathrooms Hot tub was cleaned every morning, and lovey and hot. Andrew responses to any concerns we had in a timely manner. A very enjoyable stay by us all.

Good family break!

Had a fab 4 nights at Holmfirth. The town itself is fairly hilly so make sure your prepared for it! The house itself it’s great! Plenty room for everyone and pool table and hot tub an added bonus. The kitchen is great for big parties with huge dining table. Loved it!! Thanks Andrew for the continued communication throughout our stay! Gillian x

Absolutely perfect

Absolutely loved this house. It’s huge! Well decorated and well equipped.There were 10 of us staying to celebrate my daughters 30th birthday with her newborn baby and my 77 year old mum too. We were very lucky with the weather so could enjoy the garden and bbq. The hot tub and pool table were a bonus for the younger ones and we loved sitting in the bar at night. Hopefully we’ll be able to go back soon

Incredible house, beautiful surroundings, lovely for any special occasion and has everything you could need/want and so much space for all the family. Would definitely recommend. The only thing i would say is if you have dogs or small children there is no gate on the front/side garden where the hot tub is located. So you would need to watch your pets and children on that part of the garden.

Fabulous house for a group get together

Just got back from a wonderful few days away with a group of friends. We have all thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Oaklands. The house was lovely and clean. We were a group of 11 adults, and because the house is so spacious, we weren't on top of each other. We loved the hot tub. Added bonus is it is under cover, so we were still able to use it even when it was drizzling with rain. Andrew came round to clean the hot tub each day but if it wasnt for us actually seeing him, we would never have known hed been. The kitchen is huge and had a table big enough for us all to sit together. This is exactly what we wanted so we could chat, drink and play games in the evening. All in all, our stay here was superb

Great for a family celebration

We booked 'Oaklands' for a family celebration. 8 adults and 4 children and 2 Yorkshire Terriers fitted very comfortably into the well appointed house. Enough space for everyone, but not so spread out that you felt isolated. Andrew's communication prior to and during our stay was excellent and he was always on the end of the phone for any questions. The kitchen is the stand out part of the house and is very well equipped. This was so important for us as we tend to spend alot of time as a family in the kitchen. Loads of space! The hot tub is a nice bonus and is kept immaculate by Andrew. We have a couple of very minor negatives. The overall decorative finish is, in a few places, starting to look a little tired. Unfortunately due to past bad experiences Andrew has put up a significant number of . 'Do and don't' signs which, although make you very well informed of what is acceptable, it does act as a constant reminder that you are in someone else's property and it is sometimes a little difficult to completely relax. However having talked to Andrew we do understand why he has done this. Hopefully a few more positive experiences will soothe troubled waters! However these things are really minor. We had a fabulous stay and the house is amazing. This property is perfect for family gatherings, large families our groups of friends that want to spend some quality time together in a really special house. We had a great time. Thank you!

We had a fantastic stay in this beautiful home. There’s so much room for people to have their own space but also a great kitchen area for everyone to come together. Close to the lovely town too.

Amazing stay!

I stayed at Oaklands with my family for my Mum's 50th birthday celebrations and it was the perfect location and property, it was a surprise for my mum and she absolutely loved it. She was amazed by the size, when pulling into the drive she said 'which bit is ours?' to which we replied 'all of it!'. We had such an amazing time, the size allowed for the kids and adults to have their own space to be able to play/party separately. The hot tub was lush, and a great size. It could have done with being a little bit cleaner, we noticed a few cobwebs and dust in the higher up places but it is a big place so that's understandable. There was a bit of confusion with the bins as the signs inside the house had different instructions to the signs on the bins but Andrew was helpful and understanding with this.

Superb luxury house

Everything was just perfect from the start, very friendly welcome from Andrew and nothing was too much trouble. The house was very luxurious and spacious and had everything you could need, plenty of room for all 12 guests. The hot tub made the stay even better and Jen the private chef cooked us a fabulous meal. Overall all my group of friends enjoyed it and we had a great stay !

Perfect time out for hard working mums

We went as a group of Mums without kids and partners for a bit of time out and a good catch up. The property is finished to a high standard and has a lovely welcoming feel. There is plenty of space to spread out, although we spent most of our time in the kitchen, where all good get togethers happen! The house was warm and comfortable which was great as the weather was wet, and hot water was constantly available for hot tub showers etc.. Well provisioned, with plenty of crockery, cutlery and cookware and plastic glasses for outside. Dishwasher, washing machine and dryer Only 1 bedroom has ensuite, although there are 2 further bathrooms which was more than adequate for our group, and the family bathroom has 2 showers, so would serve larger family groups as well. The walk down into Holmfirth is quite easy, there are plenty of shops for food top ups etc and plenty of nice little independent shops, cafes and bars. The owner was very attentive and responded very quickly to queries, he is knowledgeable about the area and around daily so very accessible but not intrusive. Definitely something for everyone. We are currently considering when will be going back!

girly weekend away

house was amazing perfect for what we needed, lovely location 10 min walk to village with lots of shops and pubs, The weekend we stayed there was a storm and it snowed ( very pretty to look at ) , electricty went off for most of the day, in the entire village , but Andrew the owner came to check on us and was really helpful, trying to sort things out he even cleared all the paths for us. highly recommend this propety . brilliant weekend , bonus having the hot tub over lokking the beautiful countryside

We recently stayed at the property and found it to be exactly as described , it was so well maintained and clean and well presented everything we needed was to hand. From booking through to returning home any questions / concerns we had were answered by the owners extremely quickly. Overall would highly recommend the property

I work from home which involves running the holiday home business, whilst my husband is kept busy keeping the property up top a high standard. We are both from the heart of Yorkshire so we are familiar with what the county has to offer in terms of hospitality and beautiful countryside.

Our guests book this property because it offers lots of flexibility in terms of sleeping with its 7 bedrooms (8 if you count the 2nd lounge with comfy sofa bed) and also its fabulous socializing spaces within the property, with its huge open plan dining room and large banquet style dining table, not to mention the unique cocktail lounge with bar area! it also has its main lounge which has direct access to the outdoor heated spa tub covered by a beautiful pagoda which means it can be used no matter what the weather is doing.
The other attraction is its location of course, with stunning views of the surrounding hills and countryside Oaklands is only a short walk away from the bustling market town of Holmfirth where you will find lots of nice restaurants and quirky shops and bars etc.
