Large Country House No Pool but with Acres of Woodland and Gardens

We and our children and grandchildren, friends and family have enjoyed this home for over 20 years, visiting frequently for holidays. its a great place for families to gather as there is lots of space A lot of work has been done by local skilled contractors who installed a new kitchen and created 3 bathrooms.We have worked very hard, often late at night improving the property and making it as comfortable as possible for everyone and other works. The young ones love to visit and play in the forest. If its raining they arrange a snooker competition in the games room l.it has recently been used as a holiday let for a few weeks each year. This has worked very well and guests have enjoyed staying and have left good reviews Suggestions and feed back is always welcome. We are based in England and visit as often as possible allowing for work commitments The property has been carefully renovated to a high standard. However we always find some jobs to do and often we are able to prepare the house for our next guests ourselves, but if not the our key holders/ house keepers take care of it.We hope you enjoy the house as much as we do. When we do find time to relax we often visit Belves (market day Saturday),Sarlat ,the Sunday market in nearby St Cyprien, Domme Montpazier. Beynac and lots of villages and lovely restaurants Whilst we eat in restaurants often we also enjoy buying fresh produce form the markets and having a BBQ outside or cooking in the kitchen. Dogs are welcome also if accompanied by well behaved owners! There are lots of places to walk around but you will need to drive a short distance to Belves or another nearby town or village. One day we will tour the vineyards around Bergerac and Bordeaux. Why not ake a picnic to the riverside at Beynac ? The water keeps the wine cool, this is always a favorite.. We have lots of tourist information in the house and there is a tourist information office in Belves.

Its calm and private with no close neighbours. Yet its only 6km to Belves and the nearest large supermarket is 10 km. Its a large house on 3 floors sleeping 10 guests in beds, plus 2 travel cots and 1 camp bed. There is plenty of space for a large family or groups of friends
The house is in Doissat a small commune with the Marie and a beautiful stone church. Doissat is an ideal base for exploring the Perigord Noir region, its food, markets, attractions, architecture and history.

The 3 bathrooms all have a bath and a shower. There is a bathroom on every floor. For guests with limited mobility the middle floor is accessible by driving to the rear of the house. the house is partly built into the mountain at the rear. Once on the middle floor there is the large living room, dinning room, kitchen and bath room with no need to use the stairs

The ground floor games room i has a snooker/pool table . Its an ex pub table and is free to use. There are chess sets and darts. Useful in poor weather but in the summer its better to be outside enjoying the fresh air.
You can walk up the mountain to the rear of the house. along the track. You may come across deer and wild boar. They are timid and will run away if they see you. Take a picnic and some wine. Much of the mountain is inaccessible due to vegetation and pine and oak trees.

For small children there is a toy box booster seats for cars and travel cots

The living room on the middle floor is 40sqm and seats 8-9 comfortably . There is a large TV with both French and English channels. There is more seating in the games room if required. An old Victorian piano is in the games room. Its fun but slightly out of tune.
The verandah at the rear of the house is useful when enjoying a BBQ . Its a Weber BBQ, quality with utensils The charcoal is not provided
there is no swimming pool in use.
If visiting restaurants the Auberge de la Nauze near Belves and La Home in Belves are particularly good and more,enjoy!
