Very homely; lots of extra little touches; clean; location excellent. Worth noting that the bathroom is on the same floor as the lounge and kitchen, with the two bedrooms up another flight of stairs.

Outstanding comfortable stay in perfect location

Brilliant and comfortable flat right on the green in Reeth. Superb views of the town and very cosy rooms. Good quality kitchen and bathroom. A perfect stay.

Relaxing Holiday Appartment

Lovely accommodation in the best spot for Reeth. Sarah is a great host, just let’s you get on with it, but is there for anything you need. We have stayed there a number of times and it is perfect.

Great short stay in excellent location

Accommodation above ice cream parlour was perfect for our 2 night stay. Comfortable and warm with a large lounge and kitchen and two good bedrooms on the top floor. Sarah was very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Good choice of pubs in the village for food and plenty of walking in the area. We would definitely stay again.

Bank holiday weekend stay

Brilliant apartment right in the heart of Reeth. Spacious, well appointed and really homely. Great views of the village and Fremington. Lovely owner who is friendly and helpful. Couldn’t fault the apartment at all. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful Reeth

Clean and tidy flat above the Ice Cream Parlour, comfortable lounge with a great vista. It has a well appointed kitchen and lovely bedrooms. Sarah was a lovely host, always on hand in the parlour. We would certainly return.

Cosy Home from Home

The ice cream armour apartment is the perfect place to stay in Reeth. The views from the window seats are spectacular, great walking from the door whatever the weather and then a cosy home to come back to after a day in the air. Ice creams, cakes and coffee on the doorstep too!

Cosy space in a perfect location

Our kids (8 and 5) were beyond excited when they realised we were staying above the ice cream parlour. Apart from immediate access to delicious ice cream every day the cottage had everything we needed. A super spacious kitchen and comfortable rooms. As others have mentioned the views from the window seats were perfect for people watching. We did a lovely walk down to the river and stepping stones (5km loop) passing the playground which was another great bonus. The village had everything we needed- two pubs, a shop, a warren of a toy shop and a football net up on the village green which our kids played at for hours. Highly recommend.

A super holiday!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Reeth. The apartment was perfectly placed for all that Swaledale has to offer, with views across the village green to the hills above. The welcome we received from hostess Sarah was excellent and her comfortable apartment offered everything that we needed. All this & a lovely ice-cream parlour downstairs too. Thank you very much!

Peter and I have owned the Ice Cream Parlour in Reeth for 20 years, since we married in 1999. We bought the property to be our first home as well as a business. We were very happy living in the apartment and loved watching every detail of Reeth life through the two lovely front windows! The Ice Cream Parlour has been an enjoyable business to run. We meet very many interesting and different people who return year after year. We now have two children who are growing fast and an opportunity arose to move to a larger property across the Green. We refurbished the apartment and feel that it offers a lovely relaxing place to enjoy a holiday in Swaledale.

It is a quirky property with a very happy history. It is lovely to drive out of Richmond and into the hills, the scenery getting steadily more dramatic and beautiful.

Cuckoo Hill Apartment is in the centre of Reeth. It is an interesting and lively village with plenty of places to eat. There are craft shops, a post office, corner shops and bakery. There is a lovely children's play park with stunning views across to the swing bridge and River Swale. Many walks of varying lengths start from the village and bike hire is available from the nearby cycle centre at Fremington.
