On the whole nice, bed mattrasses getting a bit tired? Outside patio a bit dangerous.But we had a lovely stay.

Visit for wedding

Lovely place to stay we were going to a wedding at Le Petit Chateau in Otterburn with family. Only a 5 minute walk to the venue from the cottage. The owner Susan invited us to have a look around her stables where they train race horses.

Home from home

We enjoyed a comfortable couple of days attending a wedding in Otterburn. The house was big enough for us and our son's family, well equipped, warm and comfortable. Although it was only a base to sleep in on this occasion, it is in a beautiful location and ideally situated to explore Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. Highly reccomended!

Otterburn Break.

We where going to a wedding at Le Petit Chateau and decided to rent this property for the weekend as it is only minutes walking distance to the venue, the House is beautiful with everything you need and the views from the property are stunning so peaceful and tranquil only wish we didn’t have to leave. Thank you Susan for the lovely welcome gift we will definitely visit again and highly recommend your property to anyone thinking about staying there. Thanks Mandy and Bill.

We were attending a wedding at Le Petite Chateau- the house was a perfect location, just a 5 minute walk. The owners invited us to view their stables , Susan being a racehorse trainer and breeder.

Great property with a lovely view

I really enjoyed our stay here and worked well for our family. The facilities were excellent and my daughter loved the toys in her room. It could do with a little bit of upkeep as there were a few small things that could be fixed.

Lovely homely cottage in Otterburn

The cottage was spacious, well equipped and warm during our February stay, with a very homely feel. Susan was a wonderful host who was very accommodating, and we would highly recommend Susan's cottage.

Lovely short break

Susan was a great host who was easy to communicate with. We had a great stay in this very comfortable cottage. We were attending a family wedding at Le Petit Chateau and it was great to be able to walk to the venue. Would definitely recommend!

Family reunion

Stayed in Heatherlea with my cousin, as two families each with two children. The structure of the house worked well for each of us being at one end of the house, and there were things for baby / little kids to use which helped. One proper cot, the other is a newborn size only. Stunning views across the moors, very efficient heating, lots of room for us all to spread out, and have 8 people sit round the table easily. A pretty good selection of kitchen items and crockery. Owners were reachable by text for any questions and able to sort out a minor problem promptly. Lovely duvets on the double beds and all beds were declared comfortable - my two children (10 & 7) slept like a dream every night! Just be aware there is a significant flight of stairs between one set of two rooms which works for older kids but less so for tiny ones. A very sweet welcome box with tea & coffee, and nice biscuits. Shop down the road is really well stocked with loads of stuff, and Otterburn Mill does great scones & cake.

Excellent property

We were only in Otterburn for 2 days to attend a wedding locally. The property offered everything we needed and was ideally situated. Our only regret was not being able stay longer to explore the surrounding area which was beautiful. The owner was extremely helpful.

Spacious, well equipped, comfortable lovely holiday rental.

Booked the cottage for the weekend as we were attending a wedding at "le petit chateau". Accommodation exceeded our expectations, so spacious and well laid out. Lovely views across the fields. Beautiful master en-suite and three further bedrooms all tastefully decorated and excellently equipped catering for any family stay. Open fire gave extra character and cosiness to a cold dark night. As a family of seven adults there was more than adequate seating and eating area spread over two living/dining rooms. Parking for three cars, anyone staying during the summer would enjoy the garden, patio and BBQ area. Would love to return for family weekend/gathering in the future. Thank you for letting us rent your beautiful cottage. My husband said he would love to buy it as it had so much character.

A very comfortable home from home.

On arrival we were greeted by a lovely gift pack and welcome card from the owner Susan. We rented the cottage as our son was getting married at Petit Chateau. The cottage was within a couple of minutes walking distance of the venue. The accommodation exceeded our expectations and can only be described as home from home. My 93 yr old mother was with us and despite some problems with her mobility we managed well due to downstairs bathroom facilities next to her room. Everyone in the party had their needs catered for throughout our stay. The cottage is in a lovely peaceful location. It has lovely gardens and a sun terrace with open views. The very well stocked shop and cafe are within a couple of minutes walking distance. Also Otterburn Mill is a pleasant stroll away for morning coffee and a browse in shop. Tourist information centre is there too. Our accommodation contributed to our enjoyment of a wonderful day. Communication with the owner was encouraged if we had any queries or requests. We would certainly have no hesitation in recommending Heatherlea .

Lovely Northumberland property

Lovely bungalow , perfect for 2 families due to the separation of the bedrooms. (Room for7 people in total) . Plenty of kids equipment- cots high chair, toys etc,. Great for attending weddings at Le Petit Chateau.

Close to three beautiful wedding venues:- The Otterburn Castle ( over the Garden Wall ), Le Petit Chateau ( 3 minute walk ) and Woodhill Hall only 3/4 mile away, This is a house to offer you the best of facilities and comfort when you are not out exploring the history, wildlife, cuisine and exciting places to visit in Northumberland.

The size and versatility of the sleeping arrangements mean that this property is ideal for large groups and extended families. In addition, the fully enclosed back garden is exceedingly useful for families with small children and/ or pets. With two separate living spaces both leading onto the outside garden and the kitchen opening onto the sun lounge this property offers a great deal of space for relaxing and enjoying yourselves. Although the cottage is located on a quiet country lane, the local village shop which sells groceries at competitive prices is only a minute walk away at the bottom of the lane, making it a truly convenient location. A gravelled drive allowing for at least three parked cars completes the convenience of the property.
