We had a fantastic week in Porthallow. Ideal spot to explore the Lizard Peninsula. The cottage is small, quirky, but very cosy and homely. The bed was really comfy, home from home. The kitchen was well equipped, large dining table, two sofas, and it suited us perfectly (2 adults and 1 dog). The annexe on the side is ideal if you have a dog, straight in onto tiled floor, easy to keep clean. Beach a short stroll away, as is the pub, the Five Pilchards. Highly recommend the food, but to be sure of a table you need to book! Superb dog walking area within a short drive or direct from the cottage. Recommend reading the guide book in the cottage about the Lizard Peninsula, containing about 26 different walks. We did Helford River, The Loe at Helston 3 times, Goonhilly Downs (boggy in places even though we'd had no rain for days), Trelowarren Estate and woods.
We would definitely recommend this cottage for people who have dogs, require a quiet retreat away from it all.
