We had a lovely 9 night stay at the end of summer. Stevie and Harry are incredibly welcoming and the house is amazingly well equipped (we joked about a cherry pitter and 10 mins later one arrived!) so that if you want to whip up a 3 course dinner or simply grill on the barbecue, then you can.
Unusually this property has quite a lot of the basics - olive oil, washing up liquid, washing powder, dishwasher tablets, spare bin liners etc. Being used to rentals that DON'T provide much we took our own, but if you happen to be flying in rather than driving then this might be a godsend on the first night.
What else to add, the house is comfortable and immaculately maintained, the pool is beautifully clean and the surrounding woods are very quiet, with only the odd bird call to disturb. Our children didn't really stray from the pool when the weather was super-hot and you could easily spend your entire break chilling here with only the occasional trip for provisions.
The surrounding area is covered in sunflower fields or vineyards. The local speciality being a fortified wine, known as pineau, and cognac. Everywhere seems to make and sell cognac! There's a really useful folder with information on sightseeing, places to visit and also tips from previous guests on restaurants. There's a lot to do should you wish to.
Stevie and Harry are obviously on hand if you need, but we rarely saw them.
I'd definitely recommend Les Meuniers - I've already given away the business cards we brought back! It's a lovely place to stay
