Maison calme, même si le animaux du coin partageaient nos levers du jour (période de rut en octobre ?) ! Mais accès très rapide aux voies rapides de l'île.Maison très agréable.

Overall: we had a great time! The house is spacious and offered everything we needed. The only negative aspect was the fact that it wasn't really thoroughly cleaned. Surfaces in the bedrooms were very dusty, behind the bed were hair and dust, the dishes inside the cabinets weren't clean, stuff like that. So we just gave it a goob scrub ourselves and decided to not complain. Everything else is really great, especially the pool, our teenage kids loved it! Pool guy came twice in the 12 days we spent there

Super Lage. Das Mobiliar und die Einrichtung sind aber leider etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Ein paar Bilder an der Wand und ein paar neue Geschirrutensilien würden auch nicht schaden.

Sauberkeit ist hier ein Fremdwort!

Wir wurden zum Check In auf 15 Uhr herbestellt - um 14:45 Uhr waren wir vor Ort! Wir wurden auf der Straße von einem Herr in „Empfang“ genommen worden und es hieß wir dürfen in 15 min rein - also haben wir gewartet :) alles ok wir waren ja zu früh - nach 1 std um genau 15:45 Uhr durften wir dann ins Haus zum Check In, mittlerweile hatten sich die Kinder aus der Langeweile heraus die Umgebung zufuss angeschaut. Nun durfte man eigentlich nur mit mindestens 1 Besuchern ein Check In durchführen weil es ja „so viel“ zu erklären gibt…als mein Vater auf Grund der Umstände wegen der langen Wartezeit alleine das Check in durchgeführt hat hielt der Mann mein Vater während des Check ins für „scheinbar seehe blöd“ nach dem Check und waren wir über die Sauberkeit,die alten defekten Möbel. Und Schimmel in den Schlafzimmer sehr traurig über diese Derienwohnung. Wir würden es nicht wieder buchen!

Super Aufenthalt auf Madeira

Alles in allem ein schönes Ferienhaus mit einem super Blick aufs Meer. Die Kommunikation sowie der Empfang am Haus geht nicht besser. Die Reinigung des Hauses nach einer Woche Aufenthalt ist schon ein großer Luxus. Einziger kleiner Kritikpunkt sind die uralten Zeitungen und Prospekte sowie die doch recht "vermüllten" Auszüge im Wohnzimmer. Wir hatten trotzdem eine schöne Zeit. Vielen Dank an Herrn Hansen.

Fabulous stay

We really enjoyed our stay, peaceful area with beautiful views and watching the sunset over dinner, was amazing. Had everything we needed and we will definitely be retuning.

beaucoup petite fourmi partout ,housse de couette tachée. Des housses de couette trop petite pour des lits deux pers. Manque des lampes de chevet ,un petit barbecue ou plancha aurais étai super bien ,plus une essoreuse a salade .

Ein schöner Urlaub

Wir hatten zwei tolle Wochen in Calheta. Der Ort war der perfekte Ausgangspunkt für unsere Touren. Wir haben die Aussicht von der Terrasse sehr genossen und konnten gut entspannen. Die Kinder haben gern im Pool gebadet. Das Haus ist sehr einfach eingerichtet und mein Mann musste zwei, dreimal ein paar Dinge reparieren (WC Spülung und Fensterläden, auch die Waschmaschine ließ sich nur mit einem Trick öffnen). Die Sauberkeit war in manchen Zimmern ok, in anderen haben wir nachgeputzt. Ansonsten gab es alles, was wir brauchten und nach einer Woche kam eine Putzfrau und auch der Pool wurde zwischendurch gereinigt. Insgesamt ein schöner Urlaub, den wir als Familie jede Minute geschätzt haben :)

The Lizard House

Our family choose this rental for its high rating and beautiful views. We felt safe in this home. Our meeting with the agent was off putting since he was worried we were "party people" from the USA. I assured him we would take care of the home as it were our own. The views were in fact beautiful but could only be seen on the outside if standing or on the second floor. You could not keep the windows open for fresh air without the shutters, therefore, there wasn't much of a view. The home did come with ac but we were told we didn't need it, which we did. The garden was overgrown providing a breading ground for lizards. We couldn't keep doors/ windows open on the ground floor because lizards would swarm the home. We have family in Maderia, who have advised that if the property was properly manicured there wouldn't have been a problem with the lizards entering the home. AC is a must you could not leave doors and windows open. Upon entering the home at first glance the home seemed nice. We soon realized how unclean and neglected the home was and we immediately reached out to have the home properly cleaned. We have pictures to show that the home was not properly cleaned 4 days prior to our stay as the agent had assured us. We paid out of pocket for this expense and was never offered a refund. The agent showed up unannounced to drop off a working vacuum. The beds were awful, not enough pillows. Linens were not clean. Would never recommend staying here.

Nice house with a great pool!

The location was perfect. The house is big and has everything you need for a vacation. The pool was fantastic. The house could be cleaner but nevertheless it was a great stay!

location très sale et vétuste

Nous avons été très déçu de cette location ,très sale nous avons retrouvée des affaires des autres locataires ,des files dentaires usager, des mouches mortes sur les fenêtres ,vaisselles sale, moisissures sur les murs ,piscine très sale avec des petit vers dedans (impossible de nettoyé car pas de matériel sur place) ,des transates cassé et laissé sur place ,des bombons et des ongles dans le canapé , meubles vétustes ,luminaires rouillé et pour finir la femme de ménage qui vient sans prévenir cherché des affaires personnel à 20h30 a fuir absolument merci au utilisateurs d'abritel de laissé des commentaires même négatif cela permet de ne pas être déçu

Excellent spacious house very comfortable, large windows to let in light and well equipped. There were 5 of us and it was ideal. Maybe supply extra pillows. Highly recommended. Would definitely book Casa Iva again.

Schönes Haus in guter Lage mit kleinen Fehlern. Spülmaschine pumpt nicht ab, Ablauf stark verschmutzt. Backofen und Sieb der Abzugshaube sehr schmutzig. Verwalter reagiert schnell und gründlich. Danach alles prima, bis aufs Wetter.

Relaxing stay in a very calm area

The booking process was a very nice experience. As soon as the booking got confirmed I was contacted by the host with the arrival logistics and contact details. That was very helpfull. Despite our late arrival everything worked out as described and agreed. The property is located in a proximity (considering Madeira standards) of the main road, store and a pub. That was very much appreciated during our stay. The property matches the pictures presented. It offers a lot of space for the guests. The garden and the pool were an excellent add-on when staying there especially during summer. The rooms may require some maintenance and small repairs, but there was nothing that made our stay uncomfortable or difficult. It was just that you could see there was a leakage and some repairs should be done. The property was equipped with everything we needed for the stay and the host was accessible throughout our stay in case we needed any help. Good value received for the money we paid! I recommend!

Lovely spacious property for 6 with stunning views out to sea and lovely flora around the edge of the property. The kitchen although dated was well equipped for self catering ( we ate at the property every night except one ) washing machine dishwasher fridge freezer all great. Parking was easy with plenty of spaces nearby. Over all the property was excellent value and we all felt it would easily get 5 stars - and could charge more with a few basic improvements. There were only 2 sun loungers although it was a property for 6, there were other upright chairs for the table - but when you have all been walking the levadas together you all get in together and want to collapse on the lovely south facing terrace at the same time. The other disappointment was in the 11 days we had rented the pool wasn’t cleaned at all and neither were the towels or bed linen changed - which we had thought would be changed after a week. We did purchase washing capsules and wash towels etc but if that was the expectation it would have been nice if a couple of tablets had been left. However that said overall the property was excellent value for the location view and space and milk bread eggs had been left by the owner on arrival .

My name is Jan Hansen and I'm from Denmark and the property manager of CASA IVA and I have lived here in Madeira for many years and I think it is the best place in Europe, maybe the World. With no winter, not too hot in summer, safe, very little crime, beautiful nature with fantastic mountains, good food, not too crowded with tourists and we can swim in the pool or in the sea all year round, what more do you want in life !
