Ground floor is better than you might think

This unit is outstanding, and the ground floor allows quick access to the pool, Duke’s, and no waiting for elevators. We also were impressed with the private lawn area off the lanai. We would stay in this very unit again in a heartbeat.

The rental agency communicated often via email and text, made it easy to check in and check out. The room was fantastic, being on the ground floor was a game changer with our two kids. The fold out patio doors and huge lanai were easy to use and creating a special Hawai’i atmosphere. Every evening kids played in the grass and made friends. We were steps from the pool, beach, Dukes and bbq area. We also found that the elevator to the parking garage was close and made it quick to get to the car. The rooms were well appointed, we used the blender everyday and the beach chairs! Overall it was an excellent experience.

Great unit! Everything we needed, with quick response from the property manager if there was anything else required. Had a toddler, being on the ground floor was a game changer!

Nice, clean, spacious.

This was a great property to stay at. A good amount of towels were provided for bathrooms, appreciated that. The condo was clean and spacious. All the appliances worked great. We couldn't find a cutting board, but didn't cook a lot, so can't attest to the other cooking supplies in condo. One thing that would have made stay better would have been beach towels and boogey boards provided. We would consider staying here again. Location makes it very easy to access lobby, pools, and other amenities.

Great unit at Honua Kai

My wife and I and another couple (best friends) stayed in unit 147 for 9 nights. This is our 3rd time at HK (and it's always great ), but this unit made the stay more incredible! The ground floor, while forgoing the views, more than makes up for it in convenience. We had easy access to everything on site. In addition, Maui Resort Realty was great to work with. They had everything stocked and they made sure we were enjoying the unit and our trip. Adam called to check in the 2nd day to see if we needed anything. Top notch service! We definitely hope to stay in this unit again.

Awesome place!

This was a perfect way to start our vacation! We came in earlier than the rest of our group and stayed here before everyone arrived, the location was perfect to get our 7 year old to the pool asap!!! The patio was perfect for my coffee in the mornings! Will definitely be back and will be staying again!

Perfect Relaxing Getaway

With three young kids in tow, we loved our stay at the resort. There was plenty to eat and do within a short 10 minute drive around the resort. But there were days where the beach, pool, and Duke’s excellent food kept us from venturing too far. It was truly relaxing for the entire family. We will return!

Great family accommodations

Ground level is the way to go for a family. We would return after a long day at the beach and dump all of our sandy toys and items on the grass before heading inside to rinse off. The kids could play soccer and expend excess energy on the large grassy field right out back while we prepared picnic lunches or dinner. Having two bathrooms was super luxurious, as we were able to keep our side relatively sand-free. The washer and dryer were indispensable, and the full-sized kitchen had every amenity we needed to cook for our family of five. Boogie boards weren’t in the unit, but management sent us across the street to pick up two complimentary boards. We rented some snorkel gear from this surf shop, too, and going snorkeling at different places was the highlight of the trip for us. The condo is in a great location close to a variety of wonderful beaches. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Absolutely love condo 147 and Hanua Kai resort! Beautiful place with great access.

We loved Hanua Kai-this was our first visit. Condo 147 is a lovely first floor unit with easy access to the lobby, gourmet market, green space and pool. It was perfect for 4 of us; the condo was very nicely appointed and had all the basics we needed, plus some nice extras for the beach, like chairs, pails, toys. The amenities provided lasted us exactly the 7 days we were there (coffee, shampoo/conditioner, soap, plenty of dish and laundry soap, toilet paper and paper towel). It was so nice to have laundry available in the condo and having gas grills on site was a real treat allowing us to have delicious, affordable meals at home...and outside! It was lots of fun meeting people at the grills, the pools and at Duke’s, which was a favorite place for us to enjoy a drink each day. The food and view at Dukes was also worth the price. Clay was our favorite waiter! We did not mind taking a credit card with us (as we were renting privately), and we also found the towel system on property to work just fine. We had plenty of storage space in the condo and it was generally well-equipped with utensils needed. One thing we might bring next time are spices we like...only thing in the condo is olive oil, salt and pepper. Other than that-fab! We also enjoyed the spa-Raju in particular was great!! In addition, having the shuttle was a cheap option to Lahaina while the 2mi walk to Whaler’s Village was refreshing. Though we will have to decide on our lovely private garden terrace or a higher ocean view next time, We will definitely come back!

Amazing

This was one of the best family vacations we have had in a while. The home feel, plus the hotel like amenities, as well as steps from the beach... couldn't have asked for a better place. We visited the Grand Wailea Hotel, and while it is beautiful, I would stay in 147 any day. We will definitely be coming back to stay here, our girls, 4 & 2.5 loved it, and we plan on making many more memories at this resort!!

They don’t enforce their own rules!

This place is horrible. This place is overrun with kids whose parents are nowhere to be found. The pool rules state that anyone under the age of 14 must be accompanied at all times. The rules also say no climbing, jumping, or horse play. Kids were jumping off the bridge into the pool, climbing up the waterfall, climbing and jumping off of rocks, running down the water slide when they were told it’s closed. They allow floaties in the overcrowded pools. Everyone is playing with nerf balls so you are constantly having to dodge the balls or get splashed when they land in front of you. People were drinking in the pools every day. Sometimes the smell of alcohol was stronger than the chlorine. All of this was in front of several employees who turned a blind eye. Don’t have rules if you don’t plan on enforcing them. At night it’s like you’re at a frat party. So many obnoxious drunks playing their music so loud. Again all of this right in front of the staff. They never cleaned the hallway the whole time we were here. The same piece of tissue has been on the hallway floor since the day we got here. They made us use their new towel machines but then removed them all and we had to search both buildings to find one. Their response to the “hurricane” was a joke. They closed the pools for three days and did a poor job of cleaning them. I spoke to several other guests and we all had been given different answers as to when they would reopen the pools. It’s been days since the hurricane came through and they still only have the main lobby elevator open. This is very sad for us. We had a magical time in April and we were so excited to return to Honua Kai. We will never stay here again. People pay thousands of dollars to stay here and we shouldn’t have to put up with this garbage.

We thought that everybody on the property did their best to deal with a tough situation, but we can completely understand why you were disappointed with your visit. Another great visit at Honua Kai

We have stayed at Honua Kai several times, but this was the first time we rented a condo through Maui Resort Rentals. We arrived late and they conveniently left the keys with the bellhop. We walked in to a lovely card, a lei for each member of the family and welcoming music playing. The condo had lots of handy extras like boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrella and a cooler. MRR checked in a couple times to make sure we were having a good stay. The condo was great and had an excellent location on the ground floor.

Fabulous condo in the perfect location.

We have stayed at Honua Kai several times, but the condo through Maui Resort Rentals was our favorite. The extras in the condo were so useful ( boogie boards, chairs, umbrella). We arrived late and walked in to gentle music playing with a welcome card and flowers. The condo was spotless and MRR checked in the next day to make sure we had what we needed. Great vacation!

Great Relaxing Home Away!

We were totally impressed by the location of this condo and the size of it. We had 2 couples and the 2 bedrooms with their own bathrooms was awesome. The couch also has a sleeper, would be perfect for a family as well, since we noticed there were a lot of extended families around. Everything was clean and welcoming. The patio was larger than we thought, we spent a lot of time out there. It was also nice just walking out into the courtyard from there, just a short walk to the pools or Duke's. We really enjoyed the ground floor unit. We appreciated having a few starter items like TP, laundry and dishwasher detergent, garbage bags, etc. We stayed for 2 weeks so the washer and dryer was very handy. The closet is full of beach items so the beach chairs were well used! The beach is just a short walk, we saw whales every day and walked up and down the board walk. Maui Rentals was very accommodating and walked us through the whole condo. The Resort Concierge was also very helpful, they booked us a whale watching tour, so easy. There are a couple of stores in the resort, a few pools and hot tubs and of course Duke's. Duke's has an awesome bar in the back (separate from the main bar and less crowded) as well so we went for happy hour. We drove to the nearby grocery stores and stocked up the kitchen with food and drinks but we also walked down the boardwalk to the other resorts and checked out there stores, bars and restaurants, so really everything is there if you never wanted to leave. Maui Brewery was one of our favorite restaurants and we went whale watching in one of the Zodiacs, so cool! Our favorite part was just taking our beach chairs with snacks and drinks to the beach, going for a swim and just hanging out!
