Good sized property (we were a group of 4 adults and 2 children). Well equipped kitchen. And good to have multiple bathrooms / toilets. Pool was a good size, well maintained and enjoyed by us all. Easy access to local shops, and places to visit. Host very quick to respond when we had questions, and very helpful. Would happily recommend staying at this property.

A French Dream that became reality

Sometimes its difficult to find in a property something for everyone in a holiday home. But in this case 2 families joined together for the first time, to relax and have fun in the sun. The property was as described, having holidayed in the region before the property was easy to locate, and close to beaches, restaurants, wineries/cognac, with views across the French landscape. Very quiet which enabled us to all relax and have plenty of rest. Everyone loved the heated pool which enabled us to swim even on the cold overcast days, but also on the hot days enabling us to cool off. (We met Dave the pool attendant/gardener on a couple of occasions) The house catered for all our needs, washing machine/dishwasher etc and plenty of cooking utensils should the need arise, we BBQ'd most nights. For food the local markets were a joy and the supermarkets were only 20 mins away for a full stock up of goods. The WiFi was available but be aware it is good for e-mails but for streaming the speed can be slow. But we were on holiday so it didn't matter. And we didn't have time to watch TV!! St Georges beach was our sons favourite, soft clean sand for castles and waves suitable for body boards. The Zoo at Palmyre was a favourite. A clean property throughout. We would return again as we have more to explore Thank you Caroline.

Grande maison ancienne avec une belle piscine bien sécurisée. Un bémol sur l'étage et notamment la chambre sans fenêtres (un velux très très haut seulement) qui ne permet pas une bonne aération. Nous avons eu très chauds à l'étage malgré les ventilateurs (bruyants).La maison en bas reste fraîche et les salles de jeux sont agréables.

Merci beaucoup pour votre retour. Nous sommes ravis que vous ayez apprécié le caractère spacieux et authentique de la maison, la piscine sécurisée ainsi que les salles de jeux. Nous sommes désolés que vous ayez trouvé les chambres à l’étage trop chaudes pendant votre séjour. Cet été a été marqué par une très longue période de fortes chaleurs, ce qui a rendu le maintien d’une température agréable à l’étage plus difficile que d’habitude. Des ventilateurs supplémentaires sont disponibles dans toutes les chambres afin d’améliorer la ventilation et le confort. Nous conseillons également à nos hôtes de garder les volets fermés pendant les heures les plus chaudes de la journée, car cela permet de limiter considérablement la chaleur qui entre dans la maison et de conserver davantage de fraîcheur. Nous vous remercions pour vos remarques et continuerons à chercher des solutions pour rendre le séjour de nos hôtes aussi agréable et confortable que possible, notamment pendant les périodes de fortes chaleurs.

Habitation au calme de la campagne, dont la fraîcheur a particulièrement été appréciée en ces fortes chaleurs.Les équipements de jeu ont permis à chacun de profiter du séjour. En cas de besoins, les hôtes sont disponibles et réactifs.

Agréable séjour en pleine campagne, grande piscine

La piscine grande et chaude ainsi que le baby-foot ont fait le bonheur des enfants (de 3 à 8 ans), 2 portes fermées à clé pour y accéder à partir de la maison donc suffisamment sécurisé. La maison est en pleine campagne (mais des commerces à quelques kilomètres) donc séjour très reposant. Nombreux jeux de sociétés, salle de billard et cuisine bien équipée ajoutent à la convivialité. Propriétaire disponible et réactive. Toutes les chambres ont des volets bois qui isolent de la lumière sauf 1 chambre avec 2 lits doubles qui dispose d’un velux seulement (moins isolant à la lumière et à la chaleur). Les ventilateurs fournis sont bien utiles pour les journées à 40 degrés dehors. Nous avons passé un très bon séjour. Promenades en âne, centre séquestre à proximité, distillerie etc

Cadre très sympa et bon volume pour la maison et piscine top

Seul bémol attention au système d évacuation de la cuisine du lave vaisselle qui refoule dans le levier .et les chasses d eaux du bas un peu vieillissantes

Huis in prachtige omgeving

Wij hebben een heerlijke week gehad in dit huis. Wij vonden echter de prijs die we hiervoor hebben betaald aan de hoge kant voor de kwaliteit en staat van de woning. Er was best wat achterstallig onderhoud en de inrichting was sober en niet op alle punten uitgerust voor 8 personen. Het zwembad was wel heerlijk!

We fell in love with Beauvoir the moment we saw it in 2014 — and with the quiet charm, beauty and easy pace of life in this corner of Charente-Maritime. What began as a holiday home has become our true home away from home: a place where we can slow down, breathe, and simply enjoy being together.

Some of our favourite moments happen right here, long lazy days by the heated pool, gentle walks through the countryside, the occasional bike ride, or just sitting outside and soaking up the peaceful atmosphere. Beyond the gate we love the simple pleasures of the region: full days on the nearby beaches, wandering local markets and little shops, discovering quiet corners, and exploring the many beautiful places that surround us.

Surrounded by open countryside yet perfectly placed, the house is just 25 minutes from stunning beaches, the historic harbour of Mortagne-sur-Gironde, charming villages, everyday amenities, and a wealth of places to explore.

Built in the classic Maison de Maître style, Beauvoir blends the elegance and character of an authentic French home with the generous space and comfort that modern families need. The large, light-filled rooms give everyone room to relax, gather and make lasting memories, while still retaining the warmth and charm that make the house feel special.

It is especially well suited to families with children. Our own children have spent every summer here, enjoying the freedom, sunshine and simple pleasures of French village life. The private swimming pool is securely enclosed at the rear of the property, the quiet lane at the front is used only by a handful of local homes, and both the front and rear gardens are fully enclosed — giving parents genuine peace of mind while the children play and explore.
