Location of the unit is perfect for everything. Easy access to the parking deck. Great view and close to everything. The owner communicates well and was helpful. When we arrived the unit was very dirty. Filthy actually. They are struggling with adequate reliable cleaning people and you could tell. We never used the bathtub in the master bath because it was filthy and covered in soap scum and hair. The cleaning people did come back the night we checked in to clean the kitchen and gather the trash off the floor in the pantry and to sweep the floors. They didn't get to the bathroom, but we purchased cleaning supplies to clean the master shower but decided to leave the bath tub alone. The owner did offer to reimburse us for cleaning supplies which I declined. I think in between guests, a very deep clean needs done. I recommend replacing the shower door in the master bath. While the shower head has been mentioned needing turned a certain way so the water doesn't leak out, the door is the issue, not the shower head. There isnt a good seal on the door so that's why it's leaking. The unit needs area rugs and more towels and kitchen cloths need provided. I understand guests can ruin things but 5 total towels for a unit that sleeps 6 is not enough and we had one dish towel.
Plan on getting up by 530-6am if you want a front row spot on the beach as a beach service not directly related to The Lighthouse units sets up rentals for people and if you don't get out there to claim a spot, you will not get a front row. With a young child, being close to the water to observe her was vital for us so while waking up at 530 on vacation wasn't very fun, we did it to claim a spot each morning. Many of those rentals also go unused all day so we heard many people upset over this. Besides these hiccups, the place is as advertised and if cleaned thoroughly, we would likely consider returning, if not to this unit, to The Lighthouse for sure. We had friends staying in 811 and their place was immaculate so there are some reliable cleaning people out there. I was responsible for contacting the cleaning people myself to send photos to and to arrange to return but it was through text so it wasn't too overly inconvenient. Despite having to do this part, the owner was very responsive and easy to work with and was apologetic.
