We enjoyed our stay, whether kayaking, fishing (caught a Bass!), exploring the vicinity (Birch Bay, Whidbey Island, etc.), hiking area trails, or playing Cribbage before bed. But, oh my word! What's with the spiders? I never saw one inside the cabin, but twice found one crawling up my leg - once while relaxing on the dock and once while sitting at the table outside! Too much for this old arachnophobe! After that, we chose to enjoy the outdoors elsewhere. But still, all in all, a peaceful and comfortable place to stay. When we arrived we noticed the stains on the living room rug and the yellow chair, but they were probably a product of several oopses over the course of the whole summer. I loved the new appliances in the kitchen (super quiet dishwasher) and the extra space in the pantry, and even the soft-close drawers! The washer & dryer work super fast, but the dryer buzzer never stops until you open the door. Even the garbage situation and the heating/air conditioning were easy to figure out. I can't stand plastic against my skin in the shower, so we bought two fabric shower curtain liners to hang up with the plastic shower curtain. Worked great! My husband pounded a couple risen nails back into the (original and very cool) hardwood floors, yet I still managed to catch a sliver in my foot one night! Oh well, it's a cabin. Wear flips or slippers! It was just the two of us for most of our vacation (except when mom & friend visited), so we chose the bedroom with the full-sized bed, because of the closet, the bigger dresser, and the proximity to the bathroom. Very comfortable bed! Great nights of sleep! Thanks for providing this charming place!
