Excellent cottage

After a long journey with heavy traffic it was a pleasure to have a warm greeting by the owners and to rest in this beautiful cottage . We had a lovely time at Lympne wild animal park, and the next day at Canterbury cathedral . Would highly recommend this accommodation and its setting in the countryside is just perfect

The property is a nice size and great location for a quiet rural stay. Communications with the host was good. We enjoyed our stay however the bed and sofa were uncomfortable. The shower was great, although the towels were on the small side. It was also a shame that the TV had very little options, couldn't even get ITV! Would have been nice to have watched a movie in the evening after a long day out. For what they cost a TV upgrade to a smart one is very much needed.

Weekend stay

Lovely, cosy, clean cottage with fabulous views in a lovely village. The hosts are very friendly and informative. It's a perfect location for us when visiting family, we are glad to have found this little gem.

Absolutely fabulous!

Riverside cottage is such a great property in so many ways. Great hosts, spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything you could want for a little self catering break plus lovely views across the fields. And a great pub just up the road! Highly recommended!!!

Wonderful Outlook

Very comfortable modern accommodation very clean.Fantastic uninterrupted views across farmland with small sun trap patio. Ideally situated to explore Kent.An excellent pub within walking distance serving great food. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

What's not to like!

This is wonderful accommodation in a picture postcard setting. Property is extremely well presented with everything you need. Location could not be better. If you like village settings and archetypal country pubs on your doorstep, then this is for you. Highly recommended.

Beautiful property brilliant location just off the M20. Quite peaceful and the most wonderful views from the property. All you need for a quite peaceful restful break. Great walking and pub over the road.

Holiday in Kent

It was a beautyful cottage, best place to chill either in the cottage or in the Garden. There was also place for our bycicles. We enjoy to explore Kent by bike or car also the pubs near by. We can commend Riverside cottage.

We are a retired couple enjoying our time together in the heart of Kent. Riverside Cottage has been a dream to develop as we enjoy meeting people and making their stay an enjoyable one.

This stunning self-catering holiday cottage is a short drive from the historic City of Canterbury (around 25 mins) which boasts a wealth of visitor attractions. In 1170 Archbishop Thomas Beckett was famously murdered in the Cathedral and thousands of Pilgrims play homage each year. The ancient ruins of St Augustine's Abbey and St Martin's Church all form part of UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nearby are the remains of a Norman Castle built on 1080 by the Normans and the large stone keep was largely constructed in the reign of Henry1 (1100-1135) all are reminders of the City's history, heritage & culture. Other attractions include, The King's mile, St Dunstan's, West Gate Towers, Northgate and The Canterbury Tales. You can take one of the River Tours and absorb the City with a boat trip along the River Stour taking in the architecture and scenic views. There are museums, walking trails or guided walks to help you enjoy the narrow winding lanes. Canterbury is best explored by foot. Canterbury is a place steeped in tradition and is also a modern and vibrant city with welcoming bars, pubs, nightclubs, fine restaurants, and a High Street with independent and high street names. Canterbury Golf Course is 1 mile distance from the City Centre and was designed by Henry Colt ain 1927 at the same time as designing Wentworth. There are two famous “links” courses at nearby Sandwich, Royal St Georges (home to The Open Championship in 2011) and Princes (Open Golf qualifying course).

The evening can be spent watching the sunset from the lounge or if warm enough - from the sun loungers on the private patio. With panoramic views across the fields - almost as far as Ashford in the distance. And if you are lucky to spend the Autumn at Riverside you will be amazed at the fields full of Pumpkins or Rape seed oil plants.
