Having visited a few areas in Costa Rica both on the Caribbean and Pacific coasts we were amazed each time at the friendliness and welcoming nature of the Tico's (how people from Costa Rica refer to themselves). The Tamarindo/Playa Langosta has it all - fun shopping, top-notch restaurants, energetic nightlife and - most importantly - phenomenal beaches yet still holding on to it the charm that captivates visitors to Costa Rica: no Starbucks, McDonalds or shopping mall for miles.
The beach, Playa Langosta, is just across the street from the Villa. The calm and tranquility of the area was perfect (being able to hear the ocean from the Villa was a major selling point).l Being so close to the "action" in Tamarindo gave us the best of both worlds.
And Costa Rica is so EASY to get to from almost everywhere. The Liberia International Airport (LIR) was opened in 2012 and almost all U.S. airlines fly direct from their major hubs. Great weather. Friendly people. Easy to get to. Fantastic food. Easy on the wallet. Lots to do. Costa Rica has it all, and Playa Langosta was the ideal location.
