Perfection in a nutshell! That's how we always described Hazelnut cottage. Although it's the smallest cottage we have it's so well designed to create a spacious feeling. It makes it that more special to know that our many repeat guests consistently have a wonderful and relaxing time no matter if they're just relaxing on the farm or going visiting yet another local attraction for which there are so many. Many guests tend to return to us at the same time each year but as you've discovered our accomodation and grounds are special no matter what the season is and there's various benefits at various times of the year from snuggling up by an open fire in the winter to watching the new born lambs in spring to playing games and enjoying events outside during the summer through to autumn when there's bountiful things to forage as well as the leaves changing colour on our 70 acres woodland estate. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a great review! We seem to be a home from home for so many of our returning guests which we hope you become! Now we're a bit quieter we're doing some essential maintenance and improvements to Hazelnut cottage. We've already re-coated all wood panelling in the cottage and are in the process of ordering and installing a new glass shower screen, new wooden shutters for the small bedroom window as well as various other elements. At this time of year the free firewood and open fireplaces are such a good reason for hunkering down and just lazing about inside the cottage even if there's an abundance of beautiful woodland teeming with wildlife to discover! Dear Ant & James Wow, what an amazing review!! You seem to have succinctly relayed the pure essence of Heath Farm in but a few sentences. We do say "an idyllic retreat in any season" but it's much better to hear it from our loving and loyal guests who do return each season. Many thanks for the constructive comment about the small window in the bedroom. We will certainly pursue putting in a wooden shutter or blind to reduce light in the morning. All other curtains have blackout blinds integrated into them so it makes sense to do as you suggest. We look forward to greeting you again! The Barbour Family
