**This wonderful property has returned to our portfolio under new ownership following an upgrade in 2025...
The Staircase is a beautifully refurbished Cotswold holiday home which sleeps four guests, in two bedrooms, each with their own modern bathroom. Throughout the property, original features such as Cotswold stone walls and exposed wooden beams have been lovingly restored and, when paired with the interiors, create a wonderful homely atmosphere. The Staircase benefits from a well-equipped kitchen, two living areas and a central location in Stow-on-the-Wold's market square. It is also a dog friendly holiday home, welcoming two medium sized dogs!

This two bedroom holiday home in Stow-on-the-Wold is perfectly suited for those looking for a family retreat in a quintessential Cotswold town. The luxury Cotswold accommodation is laid out as follows:

Ground Floor
Gated entrance to a shared courtyard

First Floor
The Staircase is accessed via an external staircase and is laid out across the first and second floor

Sitting/dining room
Open plan layout with two-seater sofa, two armchairs, Smart TV (account holders only), record player with selection of vinyl records, and dining table with seating for four

Kitchen
Fully equipped kitchen with double oven, electric hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, cafetière, washing machine/tumble dryer and breakfast bar with two stools

Primary bedroom with ensuite (Sleeps 2)
King size bed, chest of drawers, large built-in wardrobe and integrated mirror, hairdryer, iron, ironing board, clothes rack and vacuum
Ensuite with rain shower and separate handheld shower attachment, loo, basin and heated towel rail

Bedroom 2 (Sleeps 2)
King size bed (can be two 75cm wide single beds on request), two bedside tables, clothes rail and hairdryer

The maximum occupancy for this property is 4 guests. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 1 additional infant (aged 2 or under)
Bed linen and towels are provided (duvets and pillows are hypoallergenic)
Free on street parking is available a short walk away from the property
1 travel cot and 1 highchair are available on request (please bring your own linen for the travel cot, as this is not provided)
2 medium sized dogs are welcome for an additional £40 per booking per dog. For pet rules, please visit our FAQs

Please note head room is low in the mezzanine and that there is an external staircase to the property entrance, so care should be taken in adverse weather

No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property

The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, typically on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October, however, we would recommend checking the exact date ahead of placing your booking. This is a traditional fair for gypsies and travelling people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. Whilst many visitors enjoy the colour and vibrancy associated with the fairs, other visitors prefer to avoid Stow on these dates

A Relaxing Getaway

We had a wonderful time staying at The Staircase and would highly recommend a visit! The holiday home was welcoming, spacious, clean and very comfortable. It was in an excellent location as we had everything Stow-on-the-Wold had to offer on our doorstep. We had no trouble finding a parking space which was only a short walk away. Communication with both our host and the holiday agency was efficient and helpful. We would be very happy to visit again in the future

We had a lovely stay. The loft was a fun, added spot and there was lots of space for our whole family. There are lots of beautiful walks through the countryside that we really enjoyed. Parked on wells lane without difficulty on busy weekend

The location of this place is wonderful, right in the middle of the town. The apartment itself is wonderful, very clean. We mentioned a small detail with the shower and they were appreciative - there was no need to fix it during our stay. Would recommend!

Homely apartment

Really comfortable stay at The Staircase with lovely fittings and fixtures, a proper home from home with a perfect location on The Square. Nice and quiet, and easy to find parking options during the stay. Would highly recommend and stay here again.

Expected more…

The location was great and parking wasn’t really an issue during our stay however, I would expect for the price we paid for the property, that we had hotter water in the shower - it was lukewarm at best. Also, that the kitchen cupboards didn’t have handles missing nor, that the only chopping board didn’t split in half.

A great stay at The Staircase

We loved our stay at the Staircase. Its finished to a very high standard and the location is so central. Parking wasnt a problem and we used the long stay car park, which is free and only a 5 minute walk away (next to Tesco). I would highly recommend staying here and we will defintely return.

Superb accommodation, beautiful place

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at "The Staircase", so much nicer than staying in a B&B. Quality of accommodation was very high indeed. Stow-on-the-Wold is a beautiful place.

Perfect location

The Staircase was tastefully decorated, very clean, quiet and comfortable. Every small detail had been thought of. Communication before and during the stay was clear and instant. The location couldn't have been any more central with many pubs, restaurants and cafes on the doorstep. Would definitely recommend The Stay Cotswolds and the Staircase for a relaxing holiday. Thank you to everybody who made our stay so enjoyable.

Fabulous Cotswolds mini break

You can’t get a better location right in the middle of town, yet so quiet. Plenty of places to eat and the pub next door was excellent with fabulous helpful staff and great food. Would definitely recommend this as a central base for visiting the area

Great Stay

Very comfortable first floor apartment in central Stow. Good to have 2 bathrooms. Most enjoyable. Steps up to front door may not be suitable for less mobile people.

Beautiful stay

This is our 4th time booking through StayCotswolds Ltd and again it did not disappoint. What a beautiful cottage, prime location but hidden just out the way. We had a wonderful 5 day break with our 2 dogs and loved it. The place we stayed was fantastic , very clean on arrival & had everything we needed. Lovely pack of Shortbread biscuits by The Cotswolds Bakery, which searched high and low for in all shops and we couldn't find. I would highly recommend ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Great location

Excellent for a short stay in Cotswolds. Easy parking at nearby Tesco long stay. Generally found close parking in Square for loading / unloading. Would recommend and would definitely consider a return stay

Staircase feedback

Absolutely loved it. Would definitely go back. From booking on the website to the emails prior to the stay, locations, where to park, contact if any problems etc. The apartment was in a great location for walking anywhere on an evening in Stow and there is free overnight parking in the square right by the apartment. The apartment was clean and comfortable and William the agent/host was very helpful. I would suggest booking a meal beforehand if you want to eat at the Sheep or Porch House as they usually get fully booked. I would definitely highly recommend this property and would stay there again in the future.

A slice of heaven

Perfect location, in the midst of great eateries, pubs, shops etc. A very welcome respite after 3 days in London. Great communication with host, property exactly as it appeared. Cozy, comfortable and well stocked with all you need. Would highly recommend to others looking for historic and welcoming surroundings.

Great apartment in a good location

This apartment is very clean and well equipped. The central location in Stow is handy for all local amenities including some good restaurants and bars. We parked in the longstay near Tesco which was only a short walk away. Very comfortable double bed. Would not hesitate to recommend and would stay again.

Little gem

Ideally situated on the square, right in the middle of everything, but totally peaceful . The Staircase was really comfortable and very clean. Very well equipped and very good quality pots, pans. The only one thing I would recommend would be to have some curtains or blinds in the sitting area. Wonderful stay. Would definitely go back again.

Staying at The Staircase with my family my

This was our first experience with this type of holiday. The customer service while we were making enquiries for booking were very helpful and friendly. The accommodation was ideally located and the security gate was reassuring. The Staircase was immaculate, comfortable and provided a relaxing environment. Everything was to a very high standard. The mezzanine provided a nice space for our son to chill out and play also. It felt like a ' home from home' for the three of us and we would definitely choose to come again if in the area.

Brilliant location

Great apartment with a excellent location. Unfortunately when we arrived the place was very cold. The boiler wasn't working. I called the emergency number provided, a maintenance man arrived two hours later who fixed the problem. Luckily for us he hadn't left when there was a power cut which lasted about 15 minutes. Not the best of starts to are break. We didn't have time to get showered before going out to dinner as we had already booked a table and didn't want to be late. We really enjoyed are stay and would not hesitate to stay here again.

A wonderful place to stay

We had a lovely long weekend in this gorgeous apartment right in the heart of Stow On The Wold. The apartment was pleasantly very well equipped so had we stayed longer, we would have had everything we needed (washing machine, dishwasher, clothes airer, iron and ironing board, a huge variety of cooking equipment etc) The apartment was very clean, the beds had wonderful pillows and duvets and there were soft fluffy towels that actually smelt of fabric softener. There were some extra touches on arrival such as a pint of milk in the fridge, a packet of biscuits to go with the tea and coffee in the cupboard and a couple of lamps had been left on so we didn't have to fumble our way in in the dark. The location is great as there are a variety of places to eat in the village ranging from coffee shops for tea and cake, pubs (The Bell does a nice Pinot Grigio!) through to restaurants offering three course meals but if you wanted to stay in and cook, the apartment has everything you need. There are lots of shops in the village too and it's a short drive to other locations to explore such as Bourton On The Water or Burford. We found booking through StayCotswold very easy. We received a comprehensive email before our stay with information on how to find and access the apartment, who to contact if there were any issues, where to park, information on the wi-fi etc which was so useful to have in advance and they had clearly taken the time to provide as much information as possible. There was also a folder in the apartment with information about the central heating, how to use the oven etc. We will certainly be recommending The Staircase and StayCotswold to family and friends and hope to return to explore another location again soon.
