We booked a villa and received a confirmation number from Vrbo saying all booked. When I went to pay the balance 4 weeks before departure, the company who look after the properties had no knowledge of my booking, apparently my request hadn’t been forward to them. Consequently the villa we thought we had booked was not available. Thankfully it was low season and they offered us an alternative. The service we received from this company was outstanding, they responded very quickly to emails, nothing to much trouble. Just because you have a booking ref from Vrbo, don’t presume anything, check with the property owner. Saying that we are using Vrbo yet again and have already contacted the owner of our next property and all good.
