We rented the property for a weekend family vacation. The location was great, the house was beautiful and the kids loved being able to run around the property and play on the play set. The Lego room was a big hit too! Zane and Kristi were kind and responded quickly to an issue that came up. Our family had a wonderful time and made some great memories.

We had a wonderful stay with every comfort from home! It actually rained the entire weekend so we were so grateful for a beautiful home to enjoy being cooped up. We really loved cooking in the beautiful kitchen and eating at the huge dining room table! Big bonus for us that it was dog friendly! We would stay again:-)

Severe Safety Hazard, Unfulfilled Refund Promise & Host Admission We paid 3,076.40 to stay at this "Fixer Upper" property for Baylor’s family weekend (Sept 18-20). Instead, it became a nightmare. Within two hours of check-in, our daughter’s dog ate over 1.5 oz of rodent poison left on the floor. While the owners initially blamed a previous guest, they admitted two days after we left that their own cleaners had seen a bucket of mouse poison on-site. We found 5 different types of loose poisons and traps hidden near furniture. Our dog had to be rushed to an emergency clinic for induced vomiting and charcoal treatments. Finding alternative lodging for 8 guests was impossible on a university weekend. We stayed one night out of necessity, keeping our remaining small dogs confined to a kennel. Furthermore, one bedroom was unusable due to a severe ant infestation on the walls and bedding. The hosts promised a 100% refund if we left early. We packed up, grabbed our dog from the clinic, and drove 2 hours home. The owners broke their word, only refunding 1,957.11. They withheld over 1,100 by falsely claiming our 5lb Yorkie and 7lb Dachshund caused "significant stains and hair." The owners now refuse to provide insurance info for our vet bills, leaving us 2,500 out of pocket. VRBO offered a useless 120 credit. This property is a major hazard to children and pets, and the hosts do not honor their word. Avoid at all costs.

Hello Andrew, and thank you for your feedback. We're sorry your weekend didn't go as hoped, and we're glad your pup is okay. We'd like to share our side so future guests have the full picture. After you contacted us about your concerns, we immediately contacted our housekeeping team and our exterminators. Neither had placed any rodent poison at the property. Housekeeping had completed a thorough cleaning before your arrival, as well as pre arrivals but the areas where you reported finding packets were behind beds and furniture, which standard cleaning and walk-throughs would not find. Furniture also appeared to have been moved. Housekeeping found no remnants of ants either. If you did encounter ants, we're sorry for that, though they are a possibility at any property on Texas acreage. We take the safety and comfort of our guests and their pets seriously. We have hosted thousands of guests, many with pets, and have never had a single incident like this one. Although you stayed only one night, we issued a refund, deducting only the cleaning fee. Our house rules clearly state that pets are not allowed on the beds or furniture, and we sent you photos showing this had occurred, which is why the fee was applied. We wish you and your family all the best.

Cozy private area. Plenty of space to spread out. There was sand in one of the top bunks in the bed, so two people ended up having to share a bed space. The kitchen was fully stocked and loved having access to a rooftop deck. The pond has a lot of sticks so it really was not fishable. The property is peaceful and is close enough to all the things Waco.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us — we’re glad to hear you enjoyed the privacy of the space and the peaceful setting close to everything in Waco. We’re sorry to hear about the sand on the top bunk and the pond. We believe the sand may have come from someone climbing on the bed rather than the sheets themselves. Regarding the pond, it is a natural feature, so occasionally small branches or limbs fall in, which is normal. The larger lake is groomed for easy fishing, so we assume the smaller pond may have been overlooked. We take cleanliness and maintenance very seriously, and we wish we had known about these concerns during your stay so we could have assisted you right away and made things right. Your feedback is incredibly valuable, and we’ve addressed these items with our team to ensure future guests have the best experience. We hope to welcome you back for an even better stay!

I am a Central Texas native who's always been passionate & enthusiastic about homes, design & unique destinations. Having local roots, I am thrilled to be enjoying running my own company where we do construction & renovation of properties locally. I not only Love what I do, but I love where I get to do it, right in the Heart of Central Texas. Although I wasn't involved in this project specifically, I'm honored to have been blessed with this magnificent property to share with my friends, family and extended community worldwide.

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

Although I had never seen this property in person, I too was mesmerized by the transformation I saw on the show. Although I knew the owners & the Gaines through our church, I never dreamed I would one day have the honor of purchasing it for myself. Just so happened that the Meek family (who did the show), were forced to relocate out of state before moving in. This gave me the opportunity to purchase it, with a stroke of luck, perfect timing & Gods grace, I was able to make this place my own! One day I hope to build a home on the land that is simply incredible!

この宿泊施設の特徴

I immediately fell in love with the Barndominium on the show, however when I saw it in person, it was more spectacular than I had ever imagined!! With the magnificent 16 acres of land and spring-fed lake it sits up on, it's truly breathtaking. You just can't really appreciate it until you have see it personally. There is definitely something magical about this place and its no wonder Chip and Joann were ecstatic about the opportunity to transform this Barn. The lake, Im told, is filled with bass and catfish for those fishing enthusiast. The land is ideal for exploring nature and connecting with its creator. I am honored & blessed to call it mine & I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to share it with others. I am confidant you will share in my sentiments once your experience it firsthand.
