Tolles Haus in Spitzenlage

Uns hat es in der Unterkunft sehr gut gefallen. Das Haus ist toll und wir wurfen von Adelina super nett empfangen und durch das Haus geführt. Calheta des Nesquim ist der gelungene Gegenpol zum wuseligeren Magdalena. Von dort kann man die Insel sehr gut erkunden. Hier möchten wir noch einmal hin. LG Martin

Super accueil

Maison très bien placée et spacieuse. Nous avons été très bien accueillis. Adelina est super ! Elle nous a aidé et conseillé à plusieurs reprises durant notre séjour, toujours aux petits soins avec nous. Nous recommandons vivement.

Avo House

What a great host and the setting was absolutely heavenly. We came so my wife and daughters experience Pico as it was the home of my Avo and Ava who where from Lages do Pico and they get to know there heritage. We will return again for a much longer stay and the people of the Pico are warm and friendly will to assist. The food was spectacular and it brought me back to my childhood growing up in a Azorean Portuguese family in California. Thank you and my Gods Blessings be with all in the Pico.

We spent 4 days at CASA DO AVÔ FAIDOCA and CASA DO CANTO and had a wonderful time. The views are superb, rooms clean, services excellent (e.g., internet), parking ample, and Adelina is a gracious host. This is 5-star living in a memorable setting. I highly recommend staying here!

Obrigada Adelina! Tolles Ferienhaus mit Meerblick

Aufgrund unserer sehr guten Erfahrungen im letzten Jahr haben wir dieses Jahr nochmals 11 Tage im Casa do Avo Faidoca verbracht. Das Haus liegt in einem kleinen ruhigen Dorf an der Südostküste von Pico, abseits der Touristenströme. Von hier aus kann man herrliche Wanderungen unternehmen. Mit der Poca das Mujas steht ganz in der Nähe auch eine wunderschöne Felsbadebucht zur Verfügung. Gegenüber können in einem kleinen Laden die notwendigsten Lebensmittel eingekauft werden. Ein gutes Fischrestaurant ist in Mahenha (ca 10 Minuten mit dem Auto) erreichbar. Wir hatten die größere Wohnung gemietet. Sie verfügt über eine große, vollständig ausgestattete Küche, 2 Schlafzimmer mit Doppelbetten, 1 Schlafzimmer mit Einzelbett und weitere Schlafgelegenheiten (zwei Einzelbetten) auf einer großen Empore über der Küche, 2 Badezimmer mit Dusche und WC und 1 Wohnzimmer mit TV etc. Waschmaschine sowie verschiedene Möglichkeiten zum Trocknen der Wäsche (auch überdachter Bereich) sind vorhanden. Im Außenbereich gibt es 2 Terrassen mit direktem Meerblick, einen gemauerten Grillplatz, einen Gasgrill sowie eine Außenspüle. Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber. Zum Anwesen gehört ein großer Garten, aus dem sich die Feriengäste mit Tomaten, Kartoffeln, etc. bedienen können. Die Besitzerin versorgte uns darüber hinaus mit Feigen, Trauben, Bananen aus eigenem Anbau, selbstgemachter Marmelade, Wein und nützlichen Informationen. Adelina ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit und hat immer ein offenes Ohr für die Anliegen der Feriengäste. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und werden, falls es uns nochmals nach Pico verschlägt, wieder die Casa do Avo Faidoca mieten. Due to our excellent experience last year we have spent another 11 days at Casa do Avo Faidoca. The house is located in a small quiet village on the southeast coast of Pico. From here you can make nice walking tours. The Poca das Mujas – a beautiful natural pool - is very close. Approximately 30m from the house there is a small shop, where the most necessary food can be purchased. A good fish restaurant is available in Manhenha (about 10 minutes with the car). The rooms were very clean. There are 2 terraces with sea view, a brick barbecue, a gas grill and an outdoor sink. From the large garden the vacationers can pick tomatoes, potatoes, etc.. Adelina provided us with homegrown fruits, homemade jam, wine and useful information. She is very nice and helpful and always has an open ear for the concerns of vacationers. We felt very comfo

Perfeita!

Uma casa muito bem localizada, espaçosa (2 quartos duplos, 1 individual e 1 c/ 2 camas, cozinha enorme, sala e 2 casas de banho) e impecavelmente limpa. Jardim e horta com ervas aromáticas. Vista de mar muito bonita numa aldeia encantadora. A D. Adelina é uma anfitriã excepcionalmente simpática, apaixonada por animais e pela Ilha do Pico. Adorámos tudo!

Pleasant and relaxing stay at Calhete de Nesquim

We stayed in this beautiful and very spacious house with the family (4) during 5 days . The owner Adelina was the most friendly host, and made us feel welcome immediately. She is very dedicated to provide her visitors the best experience, she told us everything about how she built up her B&B business. All that the garden produced was ours, and we grilled excellent fish her friend brought to us on the BBQ. Nice dinners outside, and... we spotted dolphins passing from the patio from time to time. Not to be missed is the natural pool at a 5-10 minute walk from the property, it was the first and best we tried in the Azores! 5-10 minutes drive to a good fish restaurant . Adelina speaks fluent French and English.

Excellent experience, highly recommended

We stayed in Adelina's house in Calheta de Nesquim for one week and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It is one of the most relaxing places you could hope for with great views of the ocean from both the verandas where we had our breakfast and dinners, and from everywhere in the house. The house is in a small and quiet village, you are 2 steps from everything and at the same time can enjoy quietness and peace. Adelina and even her neighbours are extremely friendly and made our stay there very special. Adelina is a wondeful host, her house is amazing, with plenty of room and space for kids to run about and for everyone, well furbished with everything you might need, very clean and tidy, i cannot praise it enough really. Adelina herself was a wonderful host to us, very friendly and very generous,she even cooked for us one night and offered her wine and her garden products. The kids loved also the space outside, playing in the garden and with the cats and dog. We couldnt have hoped for a beter place to stay in Pico or for a better host - we had a great time and would love to go back, asap. Thank you Adelina for making our holiday a special one!

Fabulous Stay in Calheta de Nesquim

We had a wonderful stay in the beautiful village of Calheta de Nesquim. Adelina's home is immaculate and comfortable with nice size bedrooms and large bathrooms. The kitchen is well stocked and I love the big family style table in the middle of the room! There is a patio with fabulous views of the ocean and the top of the beautiful church at the port. Calheta de Nesquim is a beautiful, quiet village full of friendly, warm people. We were given so many loaves of fresh pao doce, it was amazing! Adelina is a fabulous host and attends to every detail. She has beautiful vegetable gardens behind the house and shared bananas, fruit and freshly dug potatoes with us. This was a great place as a base to explore the entire island of Pico, from summiting the mountain, caving, whale watching, and hiking. We also enjoyed learning about the whaling industry, farming and wineries. This was a very special visit for me, as Calheta de Nesquim is the birthplace of my Grandmother. We were there during the Festa of the Holy Spirit and were able to participate in the feast held in the church hall. So delicious! I would recommend Adelina's home to anyone wanting a beautiful, peaceful place to stay to really get a flavor of life on the Ilha do Pico!

Beautiful views, terrific hostess

Adelina is the most welcoming and gracious hostess. We arrived to a charming, spacious, and immaculate home. The views of the sea are wonderful and the gardens full of fruit and flowers. We were lucky enough to enjoy her homegrown bananas. We liked staying here so much that we cancelled another place for the next week and booked her other home in Sao Roque. That home also had spectacular views and location. There are lots of books, tourist information, games, and magazines to occupy all types of travelers. We loved our stay and will be back!

Nous adorons!

Nous sommes venus en juillet 2015, nous nous y sommes tellement bien plu que nous y sommes revenus 2 fois depuis! L'endroit est situé proche de la mer au centre du village qui est très authentique. Nous y avons chaque fois été très bien reçu par Adelina (propriétaire) ou par Arthur, villageois qui vielle sur le bien être des vacanciers. La propreté est irréprochable, l'équipement de la maison complet, le linge de maison largement suffisant. La cuisine intérieure est complétée par une cuisine extérieure bien pratique l'été. Dès notre arrivée, nous avons reçu des fruits et des légumes cultivés dans le jardin situé à l'arrière de la maison. En résumé, nous y retournerons dès que possible.

Wunderschöne, voll ausgestattete Wohnung. Tolle Lage mit Meeresblick. Von den Terrassen konnten wir sogar Wale beobachten und abends die Cagarros hören. Herzliche Vermieterin, die sich sehr um ihre Gäste bemüht. Wir werden sicher wiederkommen.

un séjour de rêve

Nous gardons un merveilleux souvenir de notre séjour sur l'île de Pico et plus particulièrement dans la maison Casa grand-père Faidoca, Calheta de Nesquim nous laisse un merveilleux souvenir. L'accueil a été formidable, l'hôtesse très sympathique et attentionnée, la maison irréprochable, spacieuse, bien équipée, et totalement conforme à la description. L'île de Pico est une destination fabuleuse pour les promenades et pour les sorties en mer pour observer les baleines et les dauphins. Nous recommandons fortement cet endroit et cette maison.

Fantastic experience!

We stayed for 9 days of hospitality from heaven. It all started with the wonderful personality of Adelina, she is an amazing host that will always be helpful, and try to make the best for you. The house was clean, the kitchen is fully equipped, and nothing is missing, include towels, sheets, soaps, candles and even light tosh in case the electricity in down in the island area. Calheta is a very friendly and family like village, quiet, and the only mini market in the village is just down the Casa! This house is worth every euro, and try the angeliqua, wine and jams that Adelina is making, it is delicious :)

Magnifique !

Very comfortable and clean appartment (we had the "Adega" part - for 2 persons) with 2 nice terraces Quite nice village - we had a great time there !! Adelina is very sympathic and welcoming owner !! and nice to know, she also speaks French !!
