Host was great, very responsive and accommodating. Property would be perfect in the summer. A little too tight for larger trucks and snowmobile trailers in the driveway, and sunroom is too cold for sleeping in the dead of winter.

Absolutely perfect in everyway ! Beautiful location, neighbor was a really nice guy, he gave me some good advice to help catch fish off the dock!Sunroom with a breeze off the lake was paradise!

Nice place on a Cool Lake. Caught some walleye, explored the area, the restaurant in town is good. Nice quiet get away.

Great stay in Big Bay

Our family had a great stay. Plenty of space, beautiful views, and lots of things to do on the lake. The location was just what we were looking for - quiet and somewhat remote but close enough to other gorgeous sites for hikes, swimming, and scenic outlooks. The home was cozy and had everything we needed for a great vacation. We would definitely stay again.

Location, Location, Location!!!!!!

We had an amazing stay at this property. Awesome lakefront views, distant mountain views. Lake is sand bottom, great for all sports!The property is listed as a 3 bedroom but really it is 2. Not a huge deal but something to know.

Jim has a very nice rental at Lake Independence. It was comfortable and Jim had everything in place for our fishing trip. Neighbors aren't very friendly but sometimes you have that. It was a very pleasant stay. Thanks Jim.

Great house, atmosphere and location. Well appointed for everything you may need for a great get away at the lake. Communication with owner was top notch. Would stay again and again!

I don't like to write negative reviews. It's not my nature to put things out there that may hurt someone else. It's January and our stay was in August and VRBO has asked for this review so I'm going to try my best to be as honest and objective as I can.First, the property itself is in a beautiful location and is roomy. The lake is wonderful and there is plenty of space to spread out. The photos are representative of the place and accurately show you what it's like. Just a nice place.On our drive up the owner texted me to say the cleaning person had called off and then told us where we would find supplies and clean linens. We were driving from central Indiana and had an 8 hour drive, then were expected to clean and make beds? Upon further discussion he did it himself. When we arrived it was clean and beds were made and everything was more or less in order.The second day I got a text asking if we were having a party - we were not. The third day my son-in-law saw a mouse. Then another. I texted the owner, he told me to set out traps. Then there were two more mice, and we felt we could not finish our stay. We left a day early, stayed in a hotel, and went home. We contacted VRBO and were issued the partial refund we requested - it would not have been right to ask for a full refund.

This property is perfect for 6 adults. Second time renting. The lake is perfect.

You won't regret renting. As all cabin rentals, it needs a few things but over all very relaxing and peaceful.

Amazing views of Lake Independence and the Huron Mountains. Very quiet and relaxing. Enjoyed both Lake Independence and Lake Superior. Fantastic views from Thomas rock.
