Great location. Only 8 minutes from downtown Littleton, which has a few good restraunts and a coffee place. House was clean with great views. Water was around 6 feet deep at the end of the dock. The boat ramp in the neighborhood was a little too shallow for my 20ft surf boat, but was able to launch it at Eaton Ferry Marina about 15 min away.

Wow, this was the absolute perfect spot for a small family getaway for several adults and kids. Beautiful kitchen, great location on the lake (in a quiet cove), comfortable bed rooms. This is the perfect rental for a family with younger kids. It is equipped with so many things that make a parent's life easier - tons of lifejackets, toys, games, and a wonderful beach. The four toddlers were so happy and had such a great time. It was also the perfect location to bring a dog. Our senior lab was in absolute heaven with the beach for getting in and out of the water. This house offers so many little things that add up to make the trip as stress-free and enjoyable as possible. On top of all of this, Emily was a fantastic host and made the whole experience even better by being easily accessbile, flexible and accomodating. We love Gaston and will be back next year, and would absolutely love to stay at Willie's Retreat again!

Absolutely loved my stay here! The place was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had everything I needed for a comfortable visit. The kitchen was especially impressive—fully stocked with more tools, gadgets, and essentials than anywhere I’ve ever stayed, making cooking an absolute pleasure. The location was perfect and the host was incredibly kind and responsive. I would definitely stay here again—highly recommend!

Ben complained about various items upon his departure. This was the first set of complaints I received with respect to the towels and the sheets. The sheets did not stay on the mattresses (this is a problem and I have purchased new sheets using Wirecutter airbnb to find the best sheets. The mattress pads I had we found do not help hold the sheets down as well so the beds upstairs have new mattress pads. They also complained about the towels. I informed him that I have a plethora of towels and had they let me know right away, I could have pointed them to the other items I had. They left all the trash at the bottom of the hill, had plastic bags in the recycle bins, and we had to load all of the items onto a truck and take them to the dump ourselves. My rules specifically state that this is not acceptable and that I will charge for things like this. I chose not to withhold anything from the security deposit. Even though he was the only person to complain in four years with respect to these items, I did feel that I could do better and therefore, did so. I encourage anyone who has issues to let me know right away so I can do my best to remedy any concerns.

Nice way to experience Lake Gaston

Great property overall - setup well for family stays - clean and well-organized. Lots of play options for kids and adults. Would stay again. Only negative was the pathway to water was under construction and unusable to roll a large kayak down to the water safely.

Beautiful views and setting

This was our favorite stay so far in a vacation rental. The views and property were amazing. We visited in December looking for family time and quiet. We did puzzles, made meals, enjoyed the view hung out on the dock and had a campfire. It was exactly what we were looking for. We hope to do it again soon!

The house was beautiful and the lake views were gorgeous. Everything in the description of this property was accurate. The beds were comfortable, the house was spacious, and the kids and adults loved the basement games and activities. It was a relaxing winter weekend celebrating Christmas with the people closest to us. I highly recommend this place. The owners were friendly and helpful. The house was clean and comfortable. It had a wide variety of kitchen items so we could cook while we were there. Check in and out instructions were clear and easy to follow. This may be an insignificant detail, but I loved the nice thick towels and the extra blankets.

Our big, lively family has spent countless summers and winters soaking up the magic of Lake Gaston—it’s truly our second home! As proud North Carolina natives, this spot holds a special place in our hearts. After inheriting the property from our beloved Grandma a few years ago, we’ve poured our love (and a little elbow grease) into making it shine. The house has been recently renovated, and we’re always adding new touches! Think comfy new beds, stylish couches, shiny appliances, fresh landscaping, and, of course, those jaw-dropping views. When we’re not here enjoying it ourselves, we’re thrilled to share it with you!

Our Grandma was a true local at heart! With 12 siblings in the area, she and Grandpa built this house in 1979, dreaming of retirement close to family. Life threw us some curveballs—Grandpa passed in 1989, and Grandma lived here until just a few years ago—but this home has always been the heart of our family. In 2016, we rolled up our sleeves and started giving it a fresh new look, and now it’s a stunning retreat for family, friends, and hopefully you!

Everything’s been updated—seriously, everything! From brand-new couches and sleek new floors to a gorgeous kitchen with marble counters and an island perfect for gathering around. We know you’ll love it as much as we do!

Our property is truly one-of-a-kind, offering a rich history and breathtaking beauty. As one of the first homes and docks built on Lake Gaston, it carries the charm and legacy of the lake's early days. Family-owned and lovingly maintained, the property exudes warmth and a personal touch that makes every stay feel special. Plus, you’ll be treated to stunning sunset views that create unforgettable memories and the perfect backdrop for relaxation. It’s a slice of Lake Gaston’s history paired with natural splendor. Our property is built and decorated to make you feel right at home!
