The cottage and property was far better than we expected. Right on the lake! The views were beautiful, the yard had everything we needed. The dock is brand new, and very sturdy. Great place to sit and watch the sunset! There's also a hammock between two karge trees, and I enjoyed finishing my book there!
The fire pit is very nice and there are loads of Adirondack chairs around it, as well as a picnic table with umbrella. There's a big grill, we didn't use it, but it looked very nice. The yard facing the lake had a nice balance of shaded areas, and sunny areas. We brought kayaks and headed out right from the little sandy beach next to the dock. Perfect.
The house itself was cheery and bright, though it may not look like that from the listing photos. Photos tend to look dark when there's light pouring in from the windows, so I was delighted to see that the family room was lovely and bright. The couch is huge and roomy, and we snuggled up and watched a movie. There's a ton of channels, and I also connected easily to Wi-Fi.
There's a kitchen table on the three-season porch, and we ate our meals there, overlooking the lake. The other area of the porch has a sitting area where we enjoyed a bottle of red wine.
There were only two of us staying there, so it was much more room than we required, but I imagine a family would love it there. The kitchen had everything we needed, and Tanya even throws in lots of extras. She was very easy to communicate with, no issues there at all!
Also, there are two air conditioners in the cottage. One in the family room and one in the master bedroom. The other bedroom has a large fan. One of the days we were there was quite warm --- the units were more than enough to cool the cottage.
If you want to venture out to town, it's pretty close by. We took a ferry boat around the lake after we checked out, and had lunch by the water in a cute little restaurant.
Thank you Tanya, we had a lot of fun, and we will be back!
