Not a loft, and creepy
The space is 2 floors below ground level, in the sub-basement. After seeing other reviews that mentioned that the space was in a basement, I spoke to a representative, weeks before our arrival date, who confirmed to me that the space was just below the terrace (which is on the 6th floor). Instead, the space is 7 floors below said terrace. It has a "skylight" that looks into the above apartment. We could see the residents above us walk across (very creepy). The light from their space shone into ours like the sunrise. There was also a window-lined shaft that held a mirror which allowed anyone above our space to see into our room (very creepy X2). The largest bed is in the kitchen (weird).
Arriving at 11 pm the first night we were there, we couldn't unlock the main entrance door; about ten other residents arrived before someone from inside the building came to the entrance door to help. The door could only be opened when someone from the inside pulled and someone from the outside shoved. Giving due credit, it was fixed about 3 hours later. In the morning, a short shower flooded the bathroom floor because the shower drain was clogged. That was fixed after 2 days. If we'd had more time and familiarity with the area, we'd have left as soon as we saw the place. As it was, we were grateful to only need a place to sleep, dress, and store our suitcases. Except for the central location, this space was not as described, and we found it repulsive.
