Pether Cottage is a relaxing country Cottage. It has the small town feel about it. Talbingo is at the bottom of a mountain, with beautiful mountain views.

Thanks Kishor for review of our Aussie Chillout at Pether Cottage - Talbingo NSW. Ideal for family or group of friends. There is something for every season. In winter there is snow play, bush walks if weather is fine and Yarrangobilly Caves. Why not have a swim in the thermal pool that is 27 degrees celcius all year around. Regardless of the outdoor temperature.

Great property close to tourist attractions

We stayed here 3 nights over Christmas with a 5 year old mastiff, very cosy and great backyard for dogs . Will be back in the snow season to see the area in white :)

Pet Friendly - dogs are most welcome inside. Pets love nature, trees and gardens. Lots of walks around the 3 dams, Jounama Creek and Bargo State Forest with dogs. Just clarifying that it is on rare occasions that snow falls actually in Talbingo but during the snow season only need to drive 10 - 15 minutes up the hill to Kosciusko National Park to get snow falls.

Great spot!

We enjoyed our stay. Saffie our little chihuahua loved the fenced yard. Lots of zoomies lol We went to the thermal pools and caves. Great spot would highly recommend

Talbingo is a very quiet and peaceful little town. It is a great place to go to if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of life. You can go for beautiful walks that are as close as a 5 minute drive away. Or you can see kangaroos in the front yard of the Cottage in the early mornings, and sometimes even peacocks!

Bought new vacuum cleaner in January 2016 and replenished stock in kitchen. While staying in January 2016 had a visit from a kangaroo and peacock along with variety of birds first thing in morning.

Our family enjoyed our stay at Pether Cottage as a good base to explore the Snowy Mountains. The house itself is an older style with basic styling but has everything you need.

Agree with older styling. Plans to upgrade furniture prior to February 2023. Fully self-contained two bedroom snowy cottage along with Internet, Netflix, Stan and YouTube.

We love Talbingo

We stayed here with three kids & our dog & we fell in love with Talbingo! The house was perfect, and also had wifi so I could also work while being away. A great place to go and enjoy nature and each others company!

We stayed there for 2 nights during the new year and enjoyed our stay. There are enough beds for 8 people and some more extra mattresses. The backyard was well maintained.

Wendy is our cleaner, mower, gardener and maintenance person. Hilary and I are so fortunate to have her maintain the cottage for us. Just recently did gardening and pruning. Nice green grass sloping backyard for all to enjoy.

Awesome family summer short getaway

Pether Cottage was clean and very comfortable for our short getaway. It is close enough to Yarrangobilly Caves for our planed activities and to Tumut for evening meals the location was great for us.Talbingo itself was so peaceful for evening walks and a short drive up to power station had some awesome views of the surrounding areas.We were very happy with David who answered all our questions as we never travelled with our dog before and the property was great for all of us.

Northern Kosciusko NP visit

Excellent value for money. Was perfect for my son and I while we explored the area. Air-conditioning was most welcomed and plenty of room. Booking process and communication very straightforward.

Autumn in Talbingo is always colourful with lots fresh clean air. Warm comfortable house and large backyard for dogs.

Having visited Canada and seeing the colours of Autumn (Fall), Talbingo is one of those few spots in Australia where it is colourful like Canada with the colour of leaves. We are pet friendly.

Comfortable enough ; garden with grapes, plums, & a peahen (& her chicks), make the stay unusual ; location is good . . near the Talbingo Golf Club, where the Chinese Restaurant has a good list of dishes . The Tumut 3 Dam & the artificial beach, yatching & swimming area are worth visiting .

Don't startle them. Great photo opportunity. 5-10 minute walk to shops, country club and Chineses restaurant. Great place for swimming and boating in Talbingo Dam. We have a digital guide to enhance your stay.

Cosy little cottage

We enjoyed staying at Pether Cottage. The bedrooms are very warm with Daikin heaters. The hot water from shower/bath came instantly which made bathing little children very easy. Talbingo is a lovely town to stay and only short drive to Mt Selwyn snowfield. Pether Cottage is very close to the Country Club and the restaurant there serves very good Chinese food too!

Because Talbingo can be very cold in winter there are air conditioners with both heating and cooling in the lounge room, and both the bedrooms. There is also a clothes dryer (as well as a washing machine) as trying to get clothes dry in winter can be very difficult.

Nice quite place

Old but nice and clean good air con and heating lots of room we stayed with our 2 dogs good house for pets but if they like to escape the yard is not the best fencing but did the job for our staffys but they dont wonder like some dogs like to. It is old but it has a cottage style character and is comfy. We have 3 DAIKINs located in Living Area, main bedroom and 2nd bedroom for cooling and heating. If you don't have escaping dogs the fencing is adequate. Taken note for a future project to get more secure fencing in the weak spots. Within month or so we are rolling out WiFi - Netflix - Stan - YouTube and other TV apps.

Great location for high country exploration.

Have stayed at Pether Cottage many times over the years and always enjoyed the experience. This time was visited by the peacock and several kangaroos on front lawn. Despite the frigid conditions outside the cottage is always warm, cosy and comfortable. My Collie dog loves lying round big backyard and never jumps the fences. Great value for money.

There are 2 (as far as I know) peacocks that roam around Talbingo. You will quite often see them in the front yard of the Cottage. As well as kangaroos.

The location of the house was perfect. The fencing needed to be a little bit better for our dogs, but in saying that it was great that they were allowed in the house. We had to be with our dogs when they were in the backyard in case they escaped.The walks and 4WD tracks in and around Talbingo were brilliant.I found some of the local people to be a little stand-offish. Not entirely sure why as I found Talbingo very peaceful.I recommend Pether Cottage for a peaceful getaway and I would gladly stay there again if the fencing is upgraded.

Even though the backyard is fully fenced in, the fences are on the low side. So if you have medium to large sized dogs then you may not want to leave your dogs unattended. As far as the friendliness of the locals go, we have always found the residents to be very friendly.

House was comfortable

House was clean inside with good appliances Barbecue needs updating we gave it a good clean moved it away from the house window above wall behind covered in grease with no drip tray felt it was a fire hazard lots of big spider webs around the carport & the house which we cleaned plus the verandah 2 power points need to be fixed 1 in kitchen near microwave & 1 in the bathroom we still enjoyed our time @ Pether Cottage & realise it takes time to get things up to date & Thankyou would come again completely dog friendly which was a plus
