We came as big group for a getaway. The house is quite spacious with a big living area and a nice fireplace that kept us very warm. We had over 18 people (so used the cottage as well), but even when everyone was gathered at the homestead, it didn't feel cramped. The location is also incredible and makes you feel like you've truely left the city.
A few comments mentioned that the house is quite old and this is probably felt most in the kitchen and the bathrooms. Definitely usable, but expect rustic.
One improvement would be a slightly better stocked kitchen. We didn't have things like tea towels, kitchen wipes etc. This made clean up pretty hard, especially when catering for a big group. If there were a few more basic goods, this would have made things easier.
One other thing would be the lighting. The smaller lounge room and kitchen both had very dim or limited lighting. An extra light would have made the space more usable at night.
Overall, definitely a good place to stay especially with a large group. The scenery is amazing, the house is spacious and it makes for a relaxed time away. And the horses were also really friendly.
