Lovely place, beautiful view, better weather than we expected. Enjoyed the Cannery Trail bush walk nearby. Beds were comfortable & cosy.Kitchen had everything we needed. Thank you for a wonderful family holiday.

The house is right on the bay. You can spend all day watching birds and the water. Or you can venture out and explore the island. American River is sort of in the middle of everything but a 30 minute drive to other towns. Eating out is limited in America River but we did find Samphire Restaurant which is a must do for dinner. Walking distance and the food was the best meal we had on the island. Stay at this house, it is truly perfect. Photos taken from the deck.

Best spot to stay on the island

Base yourself from a lovely and comfortable home where your close to all amenities and have views to die for. Would love to go back there again.

Beautifull Home and Location

Property was excellent fully equipped with every thing we needed Very comfortable beds and excellent facilities.We had extra guests turn up unexpectedly and stayed for 3 of the four nights in their camper van The property manager was rather nasty about this contacted me via text managed to ruin my day accusing me of being dishonest all was sorted in the end however I did call Stayz and Spoke to Anthony about extra renumeration we were asked to payPeople skills need some fixing

A little slice of paradise

Samphire was in an idyllic location - every morning we rose before dawn to watch the sunrise from just outside our door and we spent evenings stargazing. The house was comfortable,and relaxing, and it was a truly magical stay.

We loved every minute of our seaside stay at Samphire. Beautifully appointed with local artwork and a kitchen filled with everything you need to cook up a feast. Comfortable beds and furniture. We couldn’t ask for more.

Stunning property in a magical serene location

Our stay at Samphire was the highlight of our trip to KI. We wish we could have stayed longer. A stunning property with everything you could possibly want. We could tell from the moment we arrived it was going to be a wonderful place that would forever stay in our hearts. It was a great place to soothe our weary souls and reconnect with old friends. Fabulous Cottage - Location location

Fabulous location on the shore. The house is beautifully fitted out- great art work and books . Everything you could wish for . Loved the sunrises. it was all just WOW. American River is a great place to stay great local community, good food at the Samphire Restaurant and Mercure Bar and restaurant . The bird life was a joy to see.

Beautiful home in a beautiful location

Samphire has everything a person could want or need to enjoy this property to its fullest potential, regardless of the weather. The attention to detail and comfort is extraordinary. This is the perfect spot to rest and relax, with the birdlife creating ever-changing views. Beds, linen and couch are of good quality and super comfortable. We made precious family memories playing some of the board games and building puzzles with the fire going on colder evenings; and enjoyed sundowners and platters with fresh oysters on the porch on warmer evenings. The coffee pod- and bread machines made breakfast easy. Many a day was started with fresh bread with KI honey. The kitchen was well-stocked with basics, which was very much appreciated. We loved our week spent at this magical spot. Highly recommend!

Rejuvenating

An excellent option in staying on Kangaroo Island. We found it to be the perfect place to relax and get back into contact with the natural world. Only 30 minutes from Kinscote for stocking up on all essentials and your set. It was a very clean and well equiped home with excellent bathroom and toilet which seemed recently renovated. The mesmerising views over the foreshore are what makes this place special. Watching the swans cruise around and the incomming pelicans gliding to a perfect landing was a pur pleasure.

Loved having outdoor fire pit right by the water and having the family all together The property was very comfortable and well catered. Only negative was the main bedroom bed mattress rolls into the middle (good for cuddling hahaha)

Family Winter Getaway

The house was clean and cosy with the perfect balance of having everything needed for modern living while still allowing you to feel able to switch off & relax. We loved the privacy and location. This is one place where we actually made sure to pull UP the blinds before bed so you can see the sunrise, birds and water first thing from bed! Simply amazing. Our 10 year old loved the fire pit and the kids room and all of us enjoyed the indoor fire and outdoor veranda. Booking and communication was very easy. Everything we needed plus more was available at the house which truely felt like our home on the island. The island itself is gorgeous but the house really amplified our enjoyment of our holiday experience. We stayed 8 nights, easily could have stayed longer. Highly recommend and we will book again definitely!
