We stayed at The Dome over Christmas and had a delightful week. It was like living in a modernist treehouse. The house is an architectural gem, beautifully built and perfectly made for living, and its physical location above Middle Harbour is lovely; its design has been completely matched to its environment. The circular form, open-plan design and full-length windows mean that the house is always bathed in light, and from virtually everywhere inside there are extensive outside views. The living space extends effortlessly to the garden with outside seating, table and barbecue, and dress circle views of Middle Harbour. From the bedrooms upstairs, especially the main, the views are eyrie-like - the treehouse effect. You're likely to be woken by birdsong and birdcalls - mobs of cockatoos, many kookaburras, parrots, etc. The beautiful angophora deserves special mention, and the hosts have thoughtfully installed an uplight for the evening effect. The facilities are all great - simple and good to use; the kitchen has everything including a good pantry and all the tools and dishes you could need; a lovely bathroom upstairs etc. The hosts are very nice. We didn't want to leave.
