Due to the wildfires in the area that occurred 3 days before our visit, I reached out to the home owner, Don for a refund or credit. He stated that rains “should” be coming the day before our visit and that we will be ok to come. My husband, being a former meteorologist for the AF kept a close eye on the weather and news and even the day before travel, reports showed that the fire was not under control and was still burning. Schools had been cancelled and some areas immediately near the cabin location had been evacuated and the major highway we would need to travel through was also closed. Due to this, we asked for a refund and explained the predicament but was told to “just come, and if we’re not satisfied then he will refund us”. I explained that I did not want to travel 5+ hours with an 11.5 yr old dog and two young children only to be miserable and unable to hike or do anything outside due to poor air quality and closures. Don then went AWOL and did not respond to any messages. I then reached out to evolve who also could not get hold of Don so I’m now having to go through our credit card for a refund. I would have been happy to move our trip to a later date but that was never offered and due to the last two emails being rude, inconsiderate and plain mean, I would refuse to visit that location and give my money to this man.
