Thank you for your lovely comments and as you say the trees do need a trim - not helped by a violent storm the day befoe your arrival pushing some of them over sideways! As for the paint job - guilty again - broke my knee a couple of months ago and still hobbling - ladders and paint brushes seemed unwise apart from being impossible! Broken bones was also the reason for the 2 month late, opening of a new restaurant in the village = now opening on the 8th July. For info there are 6 restaurants within max 15 minutes.

Ouf !!! J’étais élevais avec l’éducation « si tu ne puisses pas dire des choses vrais et gentils, ne rien dire du tout » …… En bref – je n’ai pas écris un commentaire sur vous pour cette raison, ni répondu à la question de Vrbo ‘acceptez-vous de louer encore a ces locataires’ car ma réponse était ‘Non’ – attention aux autres propriétaires. En plus de 20 ans de location je n’ai jamais reçu que 2 étoiles – le plu part du temps c’était 5. J’ai des clients qui reviennent plusieurs fois….. de plusieurs nationalités. Si mes locataires me préviennent d’un problème [bruit ??] des leurs arrivées, ou aussi tôt que possible, j’ai la possibilité de voir et corriger, si nécessaire/possible. Ce n’est pas au fin de leur séjour qui je puis faire quelque chose. J’ai proposais que vous vous installiez dans la chambre a l’étage [votre premier choix] et malgré qu’elle soit moins fraîche que celle d’en bas il y a plusieurs ventilateurs disponibles pour chasser la chaleur -Vous me disiez que le bruit d’un ventilateur vous gêne – malgré la canicule – pas facile a vous plaire………. Il y a 3 frigos, tailles normales, ainsi qu’un congélateur. Vous étiez seulement 2 personnes – alors pas assez ?? Accueil moyen : Bonjour, Bienvenue chez moi. Je vous laisse faire le tour de la maison pour que vous voyez qu’elle vous plaisait et en attendant, je vous prépare un verre d’accueil – vin blanc, rose, rouge, bière, jus de fruits, eau gazeuse, café, thé…… ? Votre réponse ‘Non, rien’ En plus il y a des boissons ainsi que des choses a grignoté - chips artisanales, du pâté etc….que je laisse pour mes locataires. Je vous ai préparais la chambre au rez de chaussée car c’est plus frais que celle de l’étage. Votre réponse – nous préférons la chambre a l’étage – ma réponse je vous la prépare, sans problème, votre réponse Non. Bonne chance pour vos prochains vacances.

I was very sad to read your review of my cottage and your stay. It is true that the cottage is very old and cool – very much appreciated by Summer guests when the temperatures are in the mid 30’s. It was built at a time when that was the case every summer. Unfortunately 2021 was the worst summer on record since 1977, over which I have no control. There is an abundance of overhead lights and lamps and no restriction on how much electricity you use so you would have been welcome to turn them all on to brighten the interior. As for the indoor utilities – it’s true that the cooker is ‘tired’ but works fine and, as you say, this was on my list – a new one is being delivered this week - but that did not prevent you from using the current one, as was designed. I fear that the weather very much clouded your appreciation of your holiday which I fully understand, not helped by the very large storm a few days before your departure and despite my paying for a lunch for you at the local restaurant ‘by way of compensation’ you sadly left with unhappy memories. I am so glad the dog enjoyed her holiday. P.S. The cooker took time in being replaced as it is no longer standard size and was therefore difficult to find another, as it is built-in. The large storm did in fact cut off exterior electrics i.e. pool filtration, but this was replaced, within a matter of hours thanks to a very professinal pool company and by way of 'apology' I paid for your lunch in the village restaurant.
